I'm sure some of you have already seen it, but I figured I'd share here as well for those who aren't in the Facebook group(s)...
I recently completed the entire 90 card run of base cards for Rolen! And I've got 29 different diffractor patterns on their way to me right now to add to the 14 I...
Very nice! I love this set. And it has been pretty fun chasing my guy. I'm still missing the tough ones:
Platinum Toile Cream/Red Refractor, SN5 (1:2,431 packs)
Red Lava Refractor, SN5 (1:574 packs; Hobby only)
Red Refractor, SN5 (1:2,431 packs)
Red Prism Refactor - 1:800 packs (Blaster only)...
Do you need any of the duplicate patterns I have of Rolen?
I might possibly be interested in the diffractors!
I currently only have diffractor patterns: 17, 23, 30, 39, 43, 54, 75, 78, 79. and 86.
After all of these years, I'm still chasing the Scott Rolen (Card #88) run. I have dwindled the checklist down to needing just NINE more patterns to complete the Rolen set!
I come here, begging all of you FCBers, please...help me finish this set this year!
You can see my progress (with scans)...
Very nicely done!
Did I count correctly, you're only 4 cards away from having all of the 98 Topps Tek Alomars? That, in and of itself, is incredible! And all of those show stamped Pacific cards...I love seeing them all together like that.
I've been maintaining a pretty low profile lately. I did just post another great piece in my collection to the 90s Facebook group the other day. You might recognize this one...
I feel like this thread needs some reviving and it just so happens that I added a Top 10 card to The Rolen Collection today...
1999 Fleer Brilliants 24 Karat Gold/24
I shared this over on Facebook in the 90s group, but wanted to share it here too. I haven't talked to some of you guys in...
I didn't even think about an autographed version. What could have been, huh?
I think if Panini brought this exact design back like Topps brought back The Man inserts, I might actually get on board with Panini and buy some. I haven't bought anything that is missing the team logos.
This just...
With the size of today's "rainbows" it got me thinking, what would cards from the 90s look like if they produced even more colors of some of our favorite inserts from that time period.
Green /250
Orange /150
Purple /100
Gold /50
Red /25
Teal /10
Blue /5
Black /1
It took me far too long to...
I've got a lot of favorite 90s cards, but this newest addition to my collection is my current favorite:
The unreleased 1998 Pinnacle Certified - Certified Destiny Gold
Thank you!
It is a Wix based website. They've got good mobile integration to their platform that allows you to build the website and then see what it looks like on mobile. You can then tweak the mobile layout to optimize your site for that platform as well.
I started a website a few months ago for my Rolen Collection.
www.TheRolenCollection.com
I try to keep the scans updated at least once a week. Sometimes work gets busy and I get it updated with new cards every other week.
Just received this one in the mail today. I have had my eye on this card for quite some time, but things just never aligned right for me to get it until now.
It basically took up my entire self-imposed card budget for the next couple of months, but I'm ok with that. The only other card I'm...
Just received these custom Scott Rolen sketch cards in the mail today from Brent. This guy is insanely talented and obviously loves what he does. The scans don't even do these cards justice. They will soon be framed and hung on my wall. Thanks again, Brent!
I'll be getting this in the mail soon.
I'm still filling in the blanks to the Rolen PC and while I'm doing that, I'm trying to fill up some blank wall space with things that aren't cards.
Check out my blog to see the progression of this piece.
Can't forget the "and handling" part of shipping. It takes money to buy the toploaders, team bags, and bubble mailer. Then there's the time it takes to drive the item to the post office, gas to get to the past office, etc. I think $3.50 shipping is ok for that method of shipping.
Thanks to chippercards.com and a recent ebay deal, I'll be scanning these beauties and adding them to the website soon. This gets me to just over 50% of the 98s.
Also added that gorgeous Diffractor. I'm trying to work out a deal for another one of those right now.
You can see here a handful...
Around here, we've had to severely limit screen time. That goes for phones, iPads, laptops, televisions, everything. If we didn't, the kids would be mindless zombies watching this stuff and attempting to recreate it themselves. They've even gone so far as to act like they are the YouTubers and...
Is WoundedDuck still around? Or does anyone know how to get in touch with him? He did a custom sketch card for me several years ago and I was hoping to commission a few more.
If anyone else does custom sketches, I may be interested in having you do a few as well.
I need to get a new scanner myself. The one I have won't work with my new computer so I have to use my old laptop and scanner to scan my cards then save them on an external hard drive and transfer them to my new computer. It's a pain, but I'm caught up on my collection now.
I've made a couple...
2020 will be my first full year back in the game since taking a hiatus for several years. My goals are pretty simple:
1. Get to 50% in my Scott Rolen PC. I'm currently just shy of 2,000 unique cards out of his 6,600+ cards. I'm working on a deal currently that will push me really close to that...
Wix makes it nice and simple for the most part. You just pick a template and customize it however you'd like. It doesn't take too long to learn or execute. I've only spent a couple hours putting mine together. The most time consuming part is uploading the pictures of all the cards.
Scanning both sides of the cards definitely took more time than I had anticipated, but it was worth it. Sometimes the backs of cards are the only thing differentiating certain cards. And a lot of serial numbered cards have the serials on the backs.
I do vaguely remember the rolenontheriver...
