If the parentheses are treated strictly as an OR function by the search engine, and not as an AND/OR, that would explain it. It would be excluding results that include BOTH terms within the parentheses. Not sure if that is actually what is happening, but OR is different from AND/OR from a...

1991 LineDrive AAA wood box sets question
I'm not sure about the ad backs (first time I've heard of them), but the sets in the wood box definitely contain the team checklist cards which are not available in packs.

What's the story with Fergie Jenkins, Andre Dawson, and Bruce Sutter being included here? Hasn't the formula typically been only to include current players and players who have some connection to the original set or year? I know they started including guys who were born in the original year a...
Did they add the book values back to the new site? I hadn't been there since the changeover, but had been reading all the posts that said they weren't there. I just logged and it looks like all of the cards list a book value. I've never had any type of a Beckett subscription, so it's...
I believe J12 is the year (2012). And I've copied checklists for the rare variations from 2010-2012 below.

The odds state one gold every 42 packs and one non-rookie colored card every 10 packs. I opened quite a bit of this stuff back in 2000, and I think the odds are reflective of how often I pulled these. So I believe the math would look like this;
45 players with 20 variations with 10 golds per...
I've got Dawson and Sandberg. They are what they sound like, small reproductions of the posters from the same time period. They are on glossy paper stock (like poster paper) rather than card stock.
If I remember correctly, cases of these sets typically had the same player SS Sampler set in every set. So it may not even be 4 different 1 in 45 shots, just 4 copies of the same 1 in 45 shot if the sets all came from the same case.

I don't think he lost command of the strike zone, I think he lost confidence in his stuff. His ball 4 pitches to Cedeno and Tabata, along with the 2-2 pitch to Walker, I'm pretty sure he intentionally threw out of the strike zone hoping they would chase and strike out. I was going nuts...
I would be interested in any Cubs you pulled, even the scrubs. I already have Mike Bielecki, but I need all the other Cubs. This is definitely a tough issue!

I actually do break it up into four categories on my personal Cubs checklists;
1. Before 1948 - I call it the Pre-War Era even though the end date doesn't match up exactly.
2. 1948-1980 - The Topps Era. Again, times don't match up exactly, but the label seems to make sense to me.
3. 1981-1996...
Do you happen to have a partially used gift card already associated with your PayPal account? I've gotten this message before when I tried to use gift cards in the 'wrong order'. I think you have to use the one that has the highest balance first if you have more than one on your PayPal...
1. 1996 Collector's Choice Gold Signature #403 Sammy Sosa (There are four Sosa cards in the set, only need this one)
2. 1995 Upper Deck Electric Diamond Gold #312 Steve Buechele
3. 1996 Select Certified Mirror Blue #94 Mark Grace
Up to $250 for any of them. Thanks for looking!

Excluding Strasburg, there have only been 13 pitchers selected #1 overall. So it isn't that amazing that there hasn't been a start until now. What I do think is amazing is that this is only the fourth appearance from that group (Price, Floyd Bannister, Andy Benes, Mike Moore - all selected...
