Fake 1998 Griffey Master Piece from Probstein Auction and other Fake MPs

I received the same bs reply from probstein as I have every time I have contacted him about the fake MPs that he lists. He wrote me "these are slabbed and approved by major grading companies". Ebay won't touch him because he is does so much business with them. The MPs he lists have been...

Oh Super Sweet 90's Inserts.... #3

So this guy mentions 1998 ex and you tested 1999?..I didn't go back and read the thread at that point to see if he meant 1999, but that would be a problem right off the bat if this was directed at 1998 ex and you test 1999. The EX's that turned color were probably left in storage units or...

I think I get all the crazies on Ebay...

These are the type of people that ruin ebay. NO WAY would I send this jerk the cards...only problem is that you're probably going to get a negative out of it, because HE IS CRAZY. If/when that happens I would contact ebay and show them his crazy messages, hopefully that would negate any...

without the peel with the peel

Typically it's the other way around. If you keep the peel on it will be harder to get a better grade usually. However for these 97's for value purposes it's better to leave the peel on. These typically grade at the 9 level and 10s are not that hard.

    I need $4k of insurance

No the registered does not give updates as to where the package is at any given time. It COULD possibly be different for international as I have not used registered for international. I always ship express for international packages, and I ship international quite a bit. Registered will show...

    I need $4k of insurance

Yes for $4k of insurance via usps express overnight it will cost around $45, whereas registered will cost a lot less, but then you have no idea when you are going to get the package. As long as the seller fully insures the item(which most do NOT) it is covered, just make sure to tell them you...

    I need $4k of insurance

Registered mail is NOT tracked. I do large deals all the time and registered is only worth using if you are unfamiliar with the buyer and you are mailing over $5k of value. It is locked and signed for whenever it is touched, but it will take anywhere from 4-14 days for the package to arrive...

    Griffey Collector's Thread

Is $800 too high? If the card was available on a regular basis yes, however this card has not shown up on ebay in at least 5 years. I've never seen one on ebay actually. So it's comes down to supply and demand. I estimated that the card would go for between $500-$750. If the high bidder...

Auction was almost definitely shilled...long story behind that card and the priec, but smalltraditions is notorious for shilling his auctions... Realistically a PSA 10 would be worth up to $15k

Wow, what a sale. $10,000 for a Jeter '98 Bowman Chrome Golden Anniversary Refractor.

That card was 100% shilled...the card is probably worth $10k-$15k at the very best, it was easy to see it was shilled...I mean the same issue Kobe wouldn't even sell for that much and the Jordan would be just above that amount...no way Hardaway is worth anywhere near that...Hardaway does have a...

Wow, what a sale. $10,000 for a Jeter '98 Bowman Chrome Golden Anniversary Refractor.

Most of the rarist cards don't get much of a premium for being graded. Grading usually has the biggest premium on sets that are condition sensitive and there have been many cards submitted with only a few grading gem. For the 1/1s and other rare, very limited cards, it really doesn't matter...

Not even close... Mirror Blues typically sell in the 2-300 range and mirror reds sell for around 100ish...I find it odd how much higher Jeter mirror blues and reds sell for...but they have been steadily coming down in their sale prices...
