I take a step back, take a few days off from the hobby and try to develop some other interests. I recently dropped a fair amount on a new watch, some nice shoes, and a few shirts. It made me realize I really don't need to spend as much on cards and that I can slow it down a bit, I have other...
If you were hoping to keep it in your Brewers PC why sell it? And if you were to sell it, it should be at a ridiculous price that you just couldn't hold on to the card at. Just my 2c...
Definitely the bat knob. Tons of patches out there but how many products have bat knobs? Plus TTT puts out these booklets every year, at this point they barely seem unique anymore. I'd pay 50% more for the bat knob auto but that's just me.
I hate to say it but I feel like the baseball writers need another Ruth to vote in on the first ballot... I think he deserves to be first ballot but will be stiffed by the writers who believe in that crap about how everyone should wait at least a year to get in.
Many of us here drop hundreds on and idolize 16 year old kids who haven't done anything yet... why would it be funny to pay less for an auto of someone who has already had success?
I mean I see where you are coming from but I feel a lot of us here forget the big picture...
I like them... a lot. Yes they look similar as previously stated but it is a great design that most collectors love. Plus there is plenty of variation. I for one like the silver stitching. Oh and +1 on including "heroes" in this subset.
Thanks again for sharing the images, I'm sure I speak...
I have but I find Ultra Pro to be much higher quality... this includes sleeves/boxes/pages. Just my opinion of course but I would pay more for Ultra Pro.
Absolutely. See 2009 Ultimate Collection.
Agreed, I have never understood when a third party thinks a monopoly is the best choice. All it does is remove all incentive to innovate and put value in their products. I want Donruss back...
As for the idea that BGS "hands out" 10's, I really feel like more people are submitting cards. I bet the percentage hasn't changed. 3 years ago, I didn't own a single BGS graded card. I now own around ~20, and I barely dabble in prospects AT ALL. It's become part of the market. One thing I...
I saw wickedliquids break a box of 2008 Ginter, and since I was collecting many of the sets from that year I sent him a PM. He replied back that he had four ad back minis for my set, so I asked him what he wanted for them. He said he would send them out for free! I received a package in the...
What are the differences in prices for submitting cards, does anyone know? I thought I heard blue flips you can do without a membership but is more expensive... can someone elaborate?
He's not a first ballot because everyone deserves to wait a year... it's good for their modesty or something.
::facepalm::
I get ticked when I hear writers mentioning this. If he is worthy, vote for him. If not, leave him off. Simple as that. What year this is for him should never...
The thing that I don't get is that, regardless of how she is getting the cases or planning to do, she is still leaving money on the table. We would probably still be having this debate if her Sterling cases were $1500 and not $1050. Also, selling this low just makes her even more suspicious...
Thanks guys! I really like the look of the Supremacy set, in the 05 Ultimate Sig thread it didn't get a ton of love but it is my favorite by far. Not to mention the stellar checklist with 50+ HOF'ers and another dozen future HOF'ers
Finally got around to scanning the cards I got for xmas, it was definitely a quality over quantity deal (sort of my focus for the new year, too).
First, three cards for my Signature Supremacy set. I am collecting the HOF autos from the set (and could use a headstart on the future HOF'ers, it...
Honestly right after the holidays seems like a poor choice to list high end cards... people are just too maxed out with gifts and all that. Not even mentioning the economy...
Well I should say I *had* just sent you a PM... no need to hit you over the head with reminders haha. I'm curious to see what these go for, I remember seeing a few do somewhat well a year or so ago but have no idea what the demand is for these. Any guesses as to what the Schilling will fetch?
Just thought I'd share a few links with you player collectors, a seller has just listed a TON of 2003 Certified jersey/autos each /5.

I know there are a few collectors on here with...
I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned how the avid collectors of that time period have grown up now and now have disposable income. I am 18 and know there are a few sets put out recently that I covet and will be willing to shell out cash for once I have a salaried job and am...
Very uninspiring design, not to mention for the autos I only see two different designs. And as others have mentioned, why put the middle tier guys on the sell sheet? Unless those are the best the product has to offer...
