Seeing as how this might have been the biggest 5 tool prospect bust of the 2000s, the serial number seems fitting. He'll always hold a special place in my collection, though. His #20 was the first (and only) baseball jersey I've owned. Only the first 100 were autographed.
Guys,
I was going through some cards tonight and came across a handful of decent 90s inserts that I don't really need. I'm going to go ahead and put up half of them now and see if anyone is interested in them. If not, then at least I'll have contributed something besides my infrequent...
I appreciate that, but unfortunately it's out of my price range for now. Plus I have my eyes on a First Pitch Preview... the one Daulton 90s card that might be rarer than an ABCD winner.
Best of luck to you.
Lots of folks showing off 1996 Studio Press Proofs lately. I have the bronze and the silver, but haven't came across a gold yet. If anyone comes across it in a quarter bin, please keep me in mind.
That's true, I hadn't thought of it that way. But you can't exactly walk into your local Target and buy 1993 and 1994 Topps packs in bulk, either. And, even if you could, it seems a bit inefficient to bust cases of the stuff looking for a card that tops out at $100.
Pardon my ignorance, but isn't the Certified one the one they mail you back along with the 44 cards after you mail in the redemption? I believe they're more common than the redemptions because everyone wanted the set.
Just pulled the trigger on 28 more Daultons on Sportlots. Nothing rare or cool enough to get posted here, but sometimes being a player collector isn't glamorous. :geek:
I hope I have the opportunity to bid on a Daulton Masterpiece one day. Great buy on that Buhner, no matter what you paid for it. That's a card that can only increase in value as later 1/1s continue to decline. I don't think you'll ever regret acquiring it.
Anyone here have a Phillies player collection? I bought this 1995 Mellon Stadium Giveaway just to get the Daulton. So any of the other players (Dykstra, Schilling, etc) are available.
