So is anybody concerned that he has only walked 11 times this year? 11 walks In over 250 plate appearances. That's close to the worst walk rate I've ever seen for a prospect. It won't work above A ball.
Yeah even at tonight's prices I'm not making much of a profit. Maybe 20% over what I paid when he first started A ball. Guess a little profit is better than a loss.
Guess I gotta go dig out my stash. Been sitting on his stuff for about a year, can't remember what I have. My biggest problem with selling now is the fact that I lost sooooooo much selling early with Trout. I know he's he exception, but I left a TON of money on the table.
What are the odds of...
It appears that is very debatable. According to fangraphs.com, Reddick has the highest WAR of any RFer in all of MLB. Here's the short list
Josh Reddick 4.3
Jason Heyward 4.0
Mark Trumbo 3.3
Giancarlo Stanton 3.3
Jose Bautista 3.3
Ben Zobirst 3.2
Reddick has 20 more total hits than Bautista...
Ok so I lied. Ichiro is the best RF in the league, but reddick is #2 according to fangraphs, and he is also one of the top 5 defenders in the league according to fangraphs. I don't know why he has such a hard time in Boston, but I think it had something to do with the way the sox treated him.
Yeah Reddicks defense is amazing. Maybe the best right fielder in the league. What's is more amazing is that the As will have this core of players for several more years.
I'm slowly turning into an A's fan this year and have been really impressed with guys like Cespedes and Reddick, but now Chris Carter is crushing the ball and they have a very powerful middle of the order. He has like 8 hr in 60 at bats or something ridiculous like that. I used to buy his 2008...
That's a good point, but I gotta take baby steps. I think there is a small but definite group of people that are interested in minor league stats and would like a quick reference for players progress as well as how they compare to others.
Thanks for the suggestion. One thing I am not sure of is where to pull live stats from. I like using first inning to track daily results but have no idea where they pull real time stats from. Anyone have any ideas?
Hey guys and gals, I'm in the first stages of designing an app for minor league baseball stats, rankings, top performers, etc. the idea is that mobile users can follow players throughout the season, and based off performance, see how players compare to each other, as well as players from past...
Dont forget he got robbed of a home run last week by that Jiwan Jameson "catch"
Im not sure where the sudden power surge is coming from, but looking at the stats it seems like he's just cutting loose and swinging for the fences. Walk rate is down, strikeouts are up. Not sure if it's a positive...
Speaking of that ugly swing, I still don't see why KLaw is so worried about it. I've seen several videos from multiple angles and it doesn't look that terrible to me.
