Yeah even at tonight's prices I'm not making much of a profit. Maybe 20% over what I paid when he first started A ball. Guess a little profit is better than a loss.

That's the legacy of Mike Trout talking. If you pulled anything, you should be selling. Obviously, if you can't make money, don't sell. But if you're hoping for Trout 2.0, smart money says you'll be disappointed.

I'm wary of prospects who come up with a bang, they seem to turn out to be not what was expected.

For example; Eric Hosmer, Jesus Montero, Jason Heyward


It seems to me that players who come up and suck turn out to be really good in the future.

Trout is the best thing that ever happened to this hobby. The trout effect will have buyers paying huge premiums for anyone getting hot. Machado is a fin e fine young prospect who can put up good numbers. History says to sell now and buy back in later when they are half the price. The decision is very easy here.
