So Trout has been somewhat human this year and I was looking to ask fans who follow him closely... what are you all seeing? Is he being pitched to differently, is he pressing, is he just coming back down to earth slightly??? He is still having a nice year with a nice OBP and SLG but he is on pace for around 190 KOs and only 80 BBs. Wondering if anyone out there thinks the sky if falling, and they have major concerns. I am thinking it is just a early season "slump", if you want to call it that, which he will work out of. Opinions?

I already had a thread going about this, but in the series against the Rangers Trout simply could not hit a fastball. I believe he has always struggled with them more than off speed stuff but it was glaringly obvious against the rangers. He couldn't do a thing with fastballs elevated in the zone especially, including Colby Lewis who tops out at around 90mph

I also think it's time to sell if you are just looking for return. He isn't going to become a nobody and will still be a star player, but his cards have reached the peak value IMO.

He's on pace to set a career high in HR/RBI and is on pace for a 30-100-100-20 season, pretty good if you ask me.

If you are looking for return, shoot me some prices. Thanks.

I have none of his cards. I could never spend more than $100 on a single card. Just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a little signed piece of card stock... Not trying to criticize others, just my own view. If I want to spend that much I'll get a bat or jersey or something more easily and overtly displayed

Yet you are selling what clearly looks to be lots and singles from boxes you have opened, boxes that sell for close to or over $100. This is a strange thing to say for someone on a baseball card message board who sells baseball cards.

It is early May for god sake. I think once he figures out what is wrong? he will be ok. I'm not on the panic wagon, nor do I own any of his cards other then base and some refractors of his. And when it picks it up I'll dump those too.

His path to the ball has been a bit long of late. Trout has a history of starting slow then taking off. This has been the case since Low A ball. If he is still struggling in June then we can start worrying.

I certainly don't make a living selling cards. I enjoy breaking boxes from time to time and I try to sell stuff I don't want. I have only paid >100 for a box one time (2014 bowman jumbo) and it was because I lucked into $200 do I figured I'd gamble it. I usually spend ~60-70 on a box. I enjoy opening boxes, although I shouldn't since I've only ever really had one solid hit. Again, I'm not criticizing people who buy the big ticket cards, I wish I could do it too! Just for me with my current funds I could only spend that much on an item more displayable.

But Trout did start off hot this year. He hit .314 in April with 6 homers.
He was hitting .327 as late as April 28th, then went into a brutal slump.
He's hitting .140 in May with 1 homer and zero stolen bases. His batting average has dropped 57 points, from .327 to .270 in two weeks.

I wonder if he's hurt and playing through it, or just in a bad slump.
The season is already a quarter over and he has only four stolen bases. That makes me believe he's playing through an injury.
