They're going absolutely bananas, and it's fun to see.

I've been living here since 1998 and the excitement now is 100x more than anything I've ever experienced. This must be what it was like in the heydays of the early-90's.

Merchandise sales are skyrocketting and the rest of the season's games are selling out fast. I went online to get tickets to take my kids and the first game I could get was Sept 5.

It's definitely fun!

But facing Sonny Gray today...

A's started Chavez instead of Gray. It would have be interesting to see the league's lowest ERA against the league's most potent offense. Perhaps Oakland was trying to protect Gray's Cy Young chances?

When I started player collecting I chose Edgar, because he is just one of those throwback hitters who took pride in walking more than K and had major physical limitations yet had the superior mental game. Not surprising he has a high card following.

While I still like Edgar I was not a fan of player collecting at all and moved on to set collecting.

Gray was scratched for back spasms that starting bothering him yesterday. It woulda been fun, bu now MAYBE I can see him in Baltimore...
