05 Prime Patches or 05 Absolute Update

Absolute Update - Each sealed box contains 4 packs of 4 cards each in a 100 card base set. >>> Each box contains THREE Memorabilia cards (including ONE Prime/Jumbo swatch and ONE 4-color swatch) and ONE Autograph card.


Prime Patches - Configuration: 4 packs per box. 3 cards per pack.

Each box will deliver (8) Inserts: Find (1) Autographed Game-Used Card, (1) Autograph Card per box, (1) Jumbo Swatch Card, (1) Game-Used Patch Card, (1) Bat or Jersey Card, and (2) Multi-Swatch Card per box!! The 8th hit per box will be a Jumbo Swatch or Autograph Card per box!


Both are the same price, if you where to pick 2 boxes would you get 1 of each or 2 of one or the other?

I like them both but my vote would be Prime Patches as they are a much tougher find these days.

I agree but why does everyone ask for Prime Patches? I never really understood that.

I busted a case of Prime Patches and after that I was done, over-hyped imo. I like DLP but the price is a killer for this stuff and I dont know why people want it over ABS.

I found a dealer that has 12 boxes of update and a few of prime patches, same price and he wont budge at all.

As I said before, I would go with the Absolute. I don't understand the price on PPatches, as I've never seen a pull from it to justify the box price. Whereas, if you are somewhat lucky with the Absolute, a couple cards could pay for your boxes, and then some.

how much are the boxes of Prime Patches? I think the patch cards in prime patches are much better overall. I much prefer them over the 2-4 piece plain swatch or bat chips of the absolute cards.

if you break either of them and pull any Jose Canseco you know who to look up.. I need alot from both still.

my brother bought a box of PP last year for $165 at a card show. we ripped it in the car in the parking lot and the highlight was a Jim Edmonds dual button card /4. he sold it alone for the price of the box and had all the rest of the cards to sell or trade. it was a fun break and there were some really colorful patch cards in there. the price has definately shot up on these if/when you can find them!

$220 for Absolute is a great price IMO. I usually see them for $260-275.

I'd personally go with the two boxes of Prime Patches, but that's becaue I like the look of the Will Clark inserts in that set and not the Absolute.

I like both. Pulled nicer cards out of Prime Patches though. Absolute is tough with just 4 hits(one auto) per box.

That being said, I still prefer Absolute. I don't care for the design, and the little
black and white head shots in Prime Patches. I realize we are collecting pictures of
men on cardboard, but I prefer the full pic game action shots.
