This would be not more towards investment

more towards completing a sick set, gives me a challenge, since it is 94 cards (just doing prospects + AU), and then a few of the futures guys have 1st year chromes in there so them too (like Saunders)

Jaypers did it.

Then he sold the whole set in individual auctions on one weekend.

I ended up picking up the Volstad auto, and a few others to complete my Marlins Blue set. Expect to see these guys dominating the NL east soon. :)

Michael Main AU + Devin Mesoraco AU for 55, good deal as they get around 35 and 28 respectively

Someone had the entire 2005 Draft of Blue Refs. I remember when he put them all up on Ebay.

It can totally be done. In fact, all I need is the Withrow auto to finish my set (not including redemptions that don't exist).

It can be done for profit, too. I did the 05 set and sold it last spring, card-by-card on eBay. I cleared about $2K in profit - but I think that was a better set than usual, in terms of prospects.
