555 for the Pujols? When did this sell? Must of been early on because I never saw it on ebay.

Ginter is such a sweet product anything goes on it's pricing. So many hard core collectors go after it. When 1/1 come up you got ginter maniacs, player and team collectors all fighting it out for one.

I wonder if anyone has ever gotten all the possible cards of a player or even come close. The four 1/1 plates, wood 1/1, sketch 1/1 then all the different mini variations of a single card.

Pretty sure Neshek has come close on his 2008 card. I know he has the wood 1/1 and at least 3 of 1/1 plates and all mini variations. Don't know if he got his blank back vault 1/1.

I see your collection, you don't need anyones approval on anything, but I have to ask why you would bid
to block someone on such a useless card? Many of those blank back cards sold for 40 bucks or less, and
most people just excuse them for what they really are- a ploy to make topps some money, and in my
opinion, take away from you and I, who have ripped the product are are trying to sell the higher end
cards.

You are right, without the nuts price on the blank back, I would of never dreamed of getting 500 for the wood
I had, maybe 350 tops and I would of been happy. We can't do anything about it now. Sorry it didn't work
out. I'll try to find the buyer's info for you.

Kevin

Kevin, you are being incredibly gracious in the face of being called a greed monger. I commend you for your restraint. The truth is that desire for the card sets the market for the card, and somebody wanted it more than the poster that is taking issue with you. $350 is a healthy offer for the card, but $500 is even better.

I never understood the concept of "I have more 1/1's than anybody and thus deserve a break on the price", attitude anyways. If anything, spread the cards around a little bit and let everybody have a piece of the action.

I also find it slightly humorous that the blank back bid that was made out of spite ended up costing the poster the better card. There is a certain amount of justice in that if you ask me.

Hey Mr. Bandwagon, I don't recall anywhere in my previous posts where I stated that because I have a large amount of 1/1's I deserve a break. Also in terms of spreading the cards around for everyone, if someone wants to bid/offer more than me then they get the card. Are you saying I should stop collecting what I like so other people can get the card? Great argument Einstein. I never asked the seller to bend over for me, I simply walked away from what I though was too high a price for a card. If I really wanted it I would have purchased it but I do have some principals and in this case I chose to exercise them. But hey, thanks for your riveting insight into our situation and I'm ever so excited to have quality members like you on the boards. When I go on one of my shopping spree's for deserving members again i'll be sure to put you on the top of my list.

Is this legal? I'd hate to have my info given out like this.

Also, just because I'm curious please pm me the winner. I won't contact them as I'm not looking to obtain the card but I do like to know who my competition is out there.

I only wanted the ebay id, not anything personal as that would be crossing a line imo.

I am not a bandwagon anything and I have no idea where you got that from. I read the thread and deduced for myself what you were trying to say. You apparently were caught off guard by the audacity of somebody to name their own price on a card that they ultimately sold to somebody else. Your anger stems from your entitlement. I never said anything about that you shouldn't bid on an item you want. That is your money and you're free to do whatever you want with it. However, when somebody else makes and offer that is better than your offer you shouldn't make it out like the seller was wrong for not taking your offer just because it was a "healthy" one. He thought he could do better and he ultimately did do better. By his own admission, your attempt to screw over another collector by buying a card you did not want set an inflated value on a card you DID want and ended up not getting. You know what that is called? Karmic retribution.

Additionally, I couldn't care less if you find me unworthy of going on a shopping spree for. If I want a card, i'll do what I can to get it. I do not need nor seek handouts from the likes of you and challenge you to find an example of it. Throwing around insults makes you look as petty as playing keep away with $350 bids on cards you do not want, so you can keep both immaturities close to your heart but do not expect me to play along and lower myself to your standards.

Im sure it has been done, you just have to get lucky with the printing plates, they are the hardest to track down. I
guess you have an easier time locating higher end guys cause they are most likely going to be on ebay more, even
though you have to pay more.

I know the guy who pulled a Neshek wood, he was nice to offer it to Pat for very little, Nesek is lucky not only
to be known as a collector and actually have people contact him first, but to also have collectors nice enough
to trade him tough cards for a few autograph baseballs.

Yup, agreed for sure and Im fairly sure he did know I had the other 2.

That said, I just sold a Glaus/Grieve auto for $100 and the 2009 Topps Chrome Super just sold for $200+. Its certainly hit or miss sometimes.

I guess my point is, I have a few cards in my collection I love and paid half or close to half of $250. I just dont see the appeal others do in these cards.

I know, but its still stupid. Just like when he paid $30 for a Blue ref and there was a BIn for $4 that I got after the fact.

I got him last year though, I emailed the seller and he sold it off Ebay to me. :D He only does the Topps Chrome sets though, so Im not really worried. I believe he wants 1 of every plate as well? and I think its the yellow version. I should really email him and offer up mine.

In the grand scheme of things the prices are actually very low, I know sometimes its hard to see stuff like this coming when you're accustomed to looking at it one way for so long - and the market changes! Next time, the Pujols is MINE 8-)

Anyone see either of the David Price wood cards yet? I'm hoping I don't miss them if they pop up on ebay.

Thanks,
Casey

To the posts directed at greg (bigfan5)... enough. Whats the big friggin deal here? He offers 350 for the card, and the seller denies. He has a right to think, feel, and say that he is dissapointed with the sellers askin price. He does ALOT for this community and he deserves a little more respect here.
