Whats going on FCBers?
So as some of you might be privy to, I work a crazy job as a military contractor. I spend long periods of time in strange cities where I know no one. I spend long hours in hotel rooms and rented apartments surfing the internet, watching ESPN and just generally doing nothing.
My last stop, West Palm Beach, FL had one card shop and the day I went in, they had no wax. That's right, 0 boxes. Okay. Last night we arrived in Greensboro, NC and after sitting in a Holiday Inn Express for several hours, I decided to do a search for "sports cards" on my iphone. I came up with "Cards at the Cages", only 4.4 miles away, so I jumped in the car and took a ride. Its a small card shop set up inside a batting cages facility. A cool idea, I thought. The owner, Gene, was a nice guy and I chatted with him for a while and purchased the only box of baseball wax he had in the whole place. 1 box of 05 Donruss Signature Series. This is something I've never busted before, but after seeing Andrew AIC's breaks the other night, I was excited. I have to say, I'm pretty happy. Please excuse the less than satisfactory iphone picture as I don't have a scanner on the road with me.
