Buy a bunch of wax and give it away to worthy kids organizations, maybe get Topps to help/give a discount.

Maybe some of these kids will become collectors.

I would put together Topps heritage baseball master set's starting with 2001, see how far I could get.

Would love to own a complete run, base set + SP's, all insert sets and auto sets as well.

Then donate it to a kids hospice or something once complete.

High End HOF RC's of baseball players have gone nuts in that last 5 years. Rookie Cards of Gibson and Clemente have almost doubled in PSA 8 price.

The question is why? I know there are only so many. But then again, that is the case for a lot of cards. Could key graded vintage rookie cards ever come down in price?

Here are the reasons I have come up with.

1. The set registry for HOF baseball RCs has had some big hitters come along recently and buy up a bunch of cards. Look at Dimitri Youngs collection and how it was absorbed into the hobby for a huge gain for him.
2. PSA 8 is kinda the standard for a high end card from the 50's so a ton of people with money to spend want 50s HOF RC's in PSA 8.
3. This means also that 60s and 70s will eventually go up and have gone up. Even non RC cards like the 71 Munson have gone way up in recent years.
4. Key Iconic cards are getting bought up just because they are seen by a lot of people as safe investments. Look at cards that are rare like the NNOF Thomas RC and see how it has skyrocketed in price recently.
5. They are rare in the grade 8 or better, in fact I bet at the next Chicago show you won't find more than a handful PSA 8 key 50's HOF rcs not in auctions just on display.
6. I cannot think of any vintage HOF RCs that have gone down in value, T206, Goudey's etc have all lost value in recent times but not HOF RCs pre 1970.

Actually DY lost a ton on the collection. I don't know if he published the specifics but what I read indicated that he had lost a lot, and was thinking it would go down more if he were to hold longer.

On the cards that I am tallking about he made a killing, 50's HOF RC's, that 55 Clemente sold for a butt ton. He lost money by overpaying for 60s to modern RC's and people knew he would overpay and charged him accordingly. He set records for prices for many cards he sold
