Well, I've been a member for about a year, but I never posted that much. I would always come check out the forum though. The weath of knowledge that you all have is amazing. This is a great place for someone to go to who was out of the hobby for a long time, such as me(15 years).

To be honest, I was always a little intimidated by a lot of you. I'm a pretty low end collector. I think my most valuable cards only books for 60 bucks or so. It's not so much the value of the cards but what they are worth to me. Actually, my favorite PC card is a junk common for the 86 topps set that I left out in the rain all night when I was nine years old. It was Dwight Goodens record breaker card and my very first Mets pull. I cherish it.

Now back to the point. Recently I've started to become more involved and I've come to realize that FCB, while centered around sports cards, is more about community and helping each other out, with the knowledge that you all have and sharing experiences with people that enjoy the hobby. Whether it's a low end card or a Longoria super. So all in all, it's the people that make up FCB and their willingness to take time out of their day to respond to a thread or just help some random noob like myself with even the most mundane inquiries.

I enjoy seeing peoples pickups, and their progress on their collections.

Also, the endless drama is always exciting.

The Morning Thread and various acts of generosity among the members here. There is never a shortage of stories that end with someone getting a card or something hobby related that they cherish for their collection.

Aside from that, PRIDE that this community thrives and brings out a lot of good within the hobby.

Daily affirmation that, at my age, it's okay to collect cardboard images of other men. It's nice to know others are out there, and just as obsessed as me.

What keeps me coming back is the interaction between the members here whether it be someone getting called to the majors or who's the top prospect in baseball. There is always a group of people talking about the subject and you dont get to see that anywhere else. I always enjoy reading the group breaks.
