Pat lost that fight because of one reason. He was fighting his hero and therefore gave way too much respect to his opponant.

I remember chatting with Pat on myspace about 9 months ago and the guy had Mirko HLs posted all over his wall.

Anyone else would have destroyed Mirko after knocking his around like Pat did.

He definitely didnt throw the fight though!

I'm not stating my opinion as fact, just an observation...I'm guessing by stating "he definitely didn't throw the fight though" was an opinion of your's & you don't actually have some inside info that we don't know about?

Pat just gave Mirko so much respect that he lacke dteh killer instinct he needed in this fight. Anyone else would have finished Mirko after hurting him. I dont think he thrw the fight, but I honestly dont think the "better" fighter won tonight.

Its getting ridiculous now. His power is still there, but hes just to slow to land it before the other guys does.
And hes taken enough shots now that it doesnt even need to be a haymaker.
Just a nice perfectly timed crisp shot will put Liddell out!

While I was watching the Cro Cop/Barry fight, it felt eerily similar to a fight I had previously watched.

And I made the comment to my buddy who I was watching it with, that it reminded me a lot of the first Hughes/GSP fight.

Barry wasn't pressing as much as he should have, he did give Mirko too much respect. He didn't follow up with any ground and pound when he knocked Mirko down, which he should have.

These guys fight again, it's a pretty good chance Barry finishes him early, but he'll learn from his mistake.

I also told my friend last night, that Cro Cop should take Barry under his wing and train with him and teach him all he knows, because Pat Barry has some serious potential. He could be a force I believe, and if Mirko was training with him, it could really help him.

But Barry should have not respected Mirko as much as he did if he really wanted to win the fight.

Because you can't give Cro Cop chance after chance, because he'll eventually capitalize on one of those chances and you're going to be beaten.


I am super happy that Mirko won, and I'm taking nothing away from his victory. He went in, he fought, he persevered, he won, and he deserved the win. Pat Barry will learn from his mistakes, and he will become a better fighter because of it.

Chuck Liddell fans today......

Today, all over the internet there is a lot of Chuck Liddell fans crying like little babies. Why? It's not like we all didn't already know his chin was shot, and he was fighting a pretty good striker, so what made people think he WASN'T going to get KTFO? I could see it coming from a mile away, and Ace beat him with a broken freaking arm! I LOVE IT!

Yes,Chuck is Done! But he was the beast for a few years and needs to be remembered for that.These fighters are too rounded for his style.

I really liked Chuck as a fighter and hope he retires so he can spend some time with his kids.

Also, after the bout lastnight I bet Chuck told more than 1 of his peep's/friend's "It shoulda been Tito out there"...I can see this fight happenning with no other implication's attached to the outcome than $ & bragging rights (but no future shot at a title bout to the winner, etc).

Dana was saying again last night that he was done.

He SHOULDN'T give Chuck another fight.

Muhammad Ali is in the shape he is today because people kept giving him fights.

And really, nobody wants to see that for anyone.

:lol: ...Yeah I can see what you're saying & it probably is more likely you're scenario is correct than mine, but this fight had the same vibe to it as a somewhat recent fight that had the same implication's to it (if the "big-name" fighter losses then they are basically out of the UFC, since if Cro-Cop lost this bout to Barry he'd have lost 4 of his last 5, or 3 of his last 4? Correct? And that usually means you're out!). The previous fight I'm relating the Cro-Cop/Barry fight to is the Kimbo/Houston Alexander match, which was rigged to high-hell (I don't care what anyone says, Houston was given order's to lose & that's that- if you have seen Houston fight & you saw the Kimbo/Houston fight then you know exactly what I'm talkng about)!

The scenario with that fight, if anyone is unfamiliar with it, was that Dana White would give Kimbo a match in the Octagon (which ended up being versus Houston) & if Kimbo won he would be allowed into the UFC, if he lost then no entry would be given. It was a great matchup on paper as you had two brawler's/striker's going at it, neither of which had a ground game so there was no real risk of Kimbo's weaknesses being exploited & at the same token, this fight was tailored to fit all of Kimbo's strengths (funny how that worked out eh?). Anyhow, the "so-called" fight wasn't much of one as Houston never really threw a punch & was running the whole bout (how often does that occur in a Houston Alexander match?). Houston gave Kimbo his back, literally, & the bout was over... People kept saying that Houston respected Kimbo "too much" but I gotta go with Houston liking the $$ "too much" that White probably threw at him to let Kimbo win, so in the longrun Dana/UFC could make even more $$ with Kimbo's HUGE popularity & marketability!

There was no way Liddell was beating Ace last night.


I had no doubt in my mind that Rich was going to win.

But these damn fans on the internet and the Liddell fans I know 'in real life' seriously thought Chuck was going to win.

******* morons if you ask me. Have these people not watched his last few fights and witnessed his decline in chin? There's no fixing chin.

Everyone before the fight was all excited because Chuck looked good. Well, like I said beforehand, ripped abs don't fix a glass jaw.
