Just seen this on StlToday.com

What a freaking moron

He deserved to be tazed, and he deserved to have the Phillies laughing at him.

Just furthering the truth that Philly fans are the worst in all of sports.

They boo'd Santa Clause for Christ's sake.

And the whole laser pointer thing against the Cardinals from a while back still gets to me.

i can name 20 Soccer Club teams who have fans that would make phillies fans cry.

I was at a soccer game between Ireland and Mexico in the Meadowlands years ago where this big irish thug urinated on this 8 or 9 year old mexican fan in the mens room. He was arrested on the spot and also got roughed up pretty good.

Well, there are probably millions of people who believe that Philly fans are the worst, and their basis for that belief isn't based on fairy tales. There's a reason they think that, and with due cause.

International Soccer fans are just batshit crazy as a whole. We could just say soccer fans are a horrible bunch and leave it at that. There's always riots. It's the norm, just like Philly fans being idiots at sporting events. It's just normal for them. That's how they act.

Just like in St. Louis. Fans cheer opposing players when they make a great play, and will often give an opposing player a standing ovation for something outstanding. It's normal for them.

But not all fan bases can be classy. There's got to be the soccer hooligans and Philly fans out there to balance out the world.

I enjoy your posts Sam, especially when you're holding a grudge over a slight.

No grudge whatsoever.

I enjoy watching Rollins Chase and Howard play. And I really like Polonco. The Phillies are a great team. I love watching them play.

It's just their fan base that makes me sick.

Not you, and I understand you defending them, but it's not the Phil's that I don't like, it's what their fans have done through the years.

Believe me, I enjoyed every second of them murdering JD Drew over and over.

I love seeing the pic - it makes me smile thinking how the kid was tasered because the mallcop has consumed a few too many donuts!

in reality, I think Philly should install a firing squad. Put one with a gun behind home plate, one at first base in the stands, one at third base in the stands and one each at each foul pole. 4 blanks, 1 real bullet, and if any fan goes onto the field, everyone aims and shoots at the idiot and noone probably will know which bullet hurt/killed the idiot and which ones were just blanks.

I'll go on the record with my opinion on this incident. I'm guessing every ballpark in the league has had this happen more than once. I've seen it happen at both the Angels and Dodgers games. It's nothing new people. The kid was being an idiot and tresspassing but the tasering was uncalled for. The kid did not pose a risk and was not threatening anyone. He was just being stupid. The fat cop was frustrated that he couldn't catch the kid and took unnecessary force to catch him. I hope the kids family files a law suit.

Now the mullet wearing White Sox fan that attacked Laz Diaz duirng a game... that SOB needed to be tazed!!! While you are at it... the Father/Son tag team (Also White Sox fans I believe) that attacked the Royals base coach a few months before... those ****** @#$^%#@ should be tased as well :-)

How are they trailer park fans. It's Philadelphia, a major city in the US (4th biggest I believe unless Houston passed it).

It's all about setting an example and teaching a lesson.

Now maybe just maybe that will deter the next moron from choosing to run on the field.

I am glad the security guard tazered him. He deserved it.

He was completely in the wrong for being on the field, he knew it, hence the running from the officers. He made the choice to do something illegal, and he suffered the consequences of his actions.

Good for the security guard for showing no remorse and just tazering him and getting it over with as quickly as possible instead of just chasing him around forever like a chicken with his head cut off.

No, screw that! Just taze him, end the situation, and be done with it. I know he didn't, but who's to say the next person running out of the field holding a rally towel doesn't have a knife under that towel and is going to try and Monica Seles Chase Utley because he feels Chase slighted him somehow? People are ******* crazy, you can't trust them. Especially idiots like this who's intentions you REALLY don't know.

Tom

I think your second paragraph contradicts your first a little...

...who says the kid wasn't a threat, just like the Father/Son team in Chicago. One would think a father and kid running on to a field wouldn't be a threat...but they were. Anyone has the opportunity to be a threat, why take the risk. Sure, it could be that the cop couldn't catch him, but guess what, that's then what the tazers are for. If he wasn't tazed, maybe he would have gotten away, even though he deserves to be caught and brought to jail.

At the end of the day, you should not be running on to the field at a sports game and you deserve to be tazed, tackled by a player, tackled by a cop, whatever. If you're that stupid, you deserve it.

On that, doesn't it look like in the picture that the kid realized what was about to happen, and he pissed himself??

Comon Tom, seriously.

I'm not saying I would have tazed him, and I'm not saying it was the right call. But when you do stupid stuff, expect consequences. I'm glad that there are consequences for actions.

Try that at a higher profile event. try that on Opening Day in Washington and see if a S.S. counter-sniper doesn't get you before you hit the grass from the bleachers.

I would have tazed him if I couldn't have caught him, but I also think i could have caught him. And considering how some Police Departments teach take-downs, he might have begged for a Tazer. I hurts, but it doesn't hurt that much. And when it's over, it's over. Not like, say, a broken collar bone.

I much rather be tazed than have an officer make my thumb touch the back of my head.

lets face it, the guy doesnt have too many other options... he has neglected his health to the point where he cant properly do his job. his butt is bigger than JLo's. being in good shape is part of the job. they need to find someone else to do the job better next time, as he really only could taze because if he doesnt then it would be 10 duncan donut cops chasing a kid around the bases 10 times. more people would come on to the field. thats where the authority loses its credibility fast.
