Alright after taking the day off and watching my Celtics survive yesterday (YAAAAA!! ) lets continue the playoff chatter.

First Game -Pistons vs Cavs 8:00 eastern

Second - Rockets vs Blazers 10:00 eastern (Not on national Tv but is on Nba tv)

Third Game- Lakers vs Jazz 10:30 eastern

Whats funny is the 2 nationally telivised games are going to be the worst as more than likely blow outs and the lone game (Rockets vs Blazers) will probably best the best game (Closest out of the 3). No matter as I will try and catch all three (switching between Lakers/jazz and Portland/Rockets)

Who's watching? Thoughts? Comments?

:lol: See I can aleast admit that if by some miracle the Celtics get to the NBA finals we would have a much better chance against anybody else but the Lakers this year .

Varejao up to his old tricks. Just started a fight and once the other guy takes action he throws his arms up in the air and backs away. I'm fine with him going after the guy to defend Lebron getting the hard foul, but at least let someone else break it up if you're going to start something. The guy is a punk.

What did he do this time? He went over and said something to someone who just fouled Lebron hard. Sure he was probably goating Amir into the Tech, but he didnt do anything wrong. He talked smack, every player in the league does it. He just did it at an opportune time to draw a tech. Instead of say.... talking smack after hitting a shot.

My problem is egging someone on to draw a tech. If you're going to talk the talk be willing to walk the walk. I'm 100% sure this guy would sprint to the other end of the court if someone wasn't going to break up the fight he got himself into.

I didnt get upset about it last time, I dont mind discussion to be honest. I just want to know why its wrong for him to talk trash but its ok for other players to talk trash? I mean when Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, etc. talk trash there is a very good chance that will result in a tech at some point. As an NBA player you have to see someones weakness and exploit it. Varejao saw a mental weakness in Amir johnson and exploited it to draw a tech, how is that any different?

Yea, but those other guys will back it up. If Garnett talks smack and someone tries to hit him you better believe Garnett is going to step up. The other thing is the other guys talk crap because it's part of the game and it's not just trying to get a tech on someone else. Look at what Kobe and Artest did the last time they met. They ended up laughing about it and joking around at the end of the game. Varejao only said something to draw a tech.

I don't get how you can play both sides of the game. You made it sound last time like you wouldn't fight or retaliate making it sound like you're playing the game the right way. Now you're saying you understand trying to get someone else a tech? This is definitely not playing the game the right way. If Varejao isn't good enough to win without doing cheap things like this he shouldn't be in the NBA.

I expressly made my point about the violence. I dont understand the need to elbow someone as retaliation. There is a huge difference between violence and words to me. In all honesty all of the trash talk isnt playing the game "the right way". Trying to demean your opponet is wrong in every sense of the thought. I dont like Varejao, however I think its even worse that people pin the blame solely on him and never on the other person. As I stated several times, I think Varejao was wrong when he hip-threw Ray Allen, however, I believe Ray Allen was even more in the wrong for elbowing him. I think using words is much different than using violence.

(Seriously though, nut shots are just plain wrong. I'm glad Allen didn't "connect" the hit...or maybe he did. Varejao didn't flinch so I'm assuming it didn't hit.)
