All of this is live on camera of course. If there are four players, I would draw four cards. If two of the same card is pulled (i.e. Ace of spades and ace of hearts), suit ranking would come into play. From highest to lowest: Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds. So ace of spades would beat ace of hearts. The player on the top or left is the first card I draw, player on bottom or right is second card I draw, etc.
Does this make sense? What does everyone think?
Deciding the multi-player cards in this way makes sense. It still keeps the distribution random and still allow you to do the breaks quickly.

I think the fairest way for everyone is to put all 150 names/numbers in the hat. Once pulled you leave them out. Your way mentioned below creates the possibility that a person who bought one "share" could win multiple times on the unclaimed hits. It could also (more likely scenario) create an unfair advantage for those who bought more. While I understand your thought that people who bought more should have a better chance, they already do. If I bought 10 spots, I would have a 1 in 15 chance. If I buy one, I have a 1 in a 150 chance. If you keep putting the winner back in, those odds never change. But keep in mind the person with 10 still will have a better chance each time than the person with one (1 in 14.9 vs. 1 in 149, etc.). Also keep in mind everyone is paying approximately the same $ for a "share". Actually, if you bought more, your per share cost is less.
Just my 2 cents. I am game no matter what you or the group decides. Thanks for organizing this and it will be a fun break!

It shouldnt, my list has almost 50 names on it. Just make a big list and hope that they are not all picked by the time it gets to you.
Also, just to put a wrench in everything any chance we can draft unpicked teams? For instance if I picked undrafted rangers and hamilton, kinsler and ryan are selected I would get everything else that was not selected for that team. Would kill the raffle but maybe give some of the bigger name players to drop lower in the draft since choosing an unselected team would provide alot more cards and still distribute the non hit cards. Could also give the team collectors something to droll over.

markakis8 said:man there are over 1,000 players total. it would take me forever to put a list together. That is why there are only 150 slots, so the list we draft doesnt get too weak (like your scot shields  )
what i would suggest doing (and this is just my idea) is go to baseball-reference.com and go through each team from 2009 and take 3-8 players from each team that you wouldn't mind having.
you could easily pull off 125 names that would be worth a draft slot, then you could easily name 25 bankable HOF off the top of your head and BAM 150 names...

there are 1041 distinct players not including 2009 SP Legendary Cuts, since the checklist is not out.
