I am hopeful that one of the vintage gurus on this site may be able to help me out. I am scheduled to go look at an 1887 Tobin Lithograph Color Cap Anson card early next week.

I googled the hell out of this and couldnt find any information on pricing for this card or if its something that has been counterfeited. Any help would be much appreciated.

Which one? The Baby Talk series or the other? Is it graded?

There is no sales information on this card on vintagecardprices.com. It looks like it is the "Oh, come off" card. You may want to ask on the Net54 forum. The guys on there are very knowledgeable and I'm willing to bet that someone will be able to help you. Good luck and if you get it, can't wait to see it.

Thank you. I just registered over at Net54 based on your recommendation and am waiting to have access to the forums granted.

This reply is late in coming, but if you ever need any Cap Anson info, check out my website http://www.capanson.com.

The Tobin is pictured along with virtually every known card of him on the "Cards and Collectibles" tab.

1887 Lithographs were available in either color or black and white. The B&W are rarer and about 2X value. Guideline prices are on my website. They are both available with or without a variety of advertising overprints for different goods. (These cards were pre-printed, then sold to advertisers who overprinted their messages onto them.)

tooly22, if you see this, I'd be interested in knowing if you bought it!

And here's a Tobin Baby Talk series Anson, just to clear up any confusion.
