Nice Mick, Talmer. And a real early signature. That looks awesome.

I just wanted to say thanks for the comment and everyone elses as well. I realize that this set definitely not everyone on this board's cup of tea because they aren't chrome but it makes you feel better about a purchase over $1000 when others also enjoy the cards.

The set looks fantastic so far. I absolutely love the look of signed vintage. I would think Mantle would be the most expensive card in the set. Any other high priced autographs in the set?

Ted Williams would probably touch 2 grand if one pops up. It is one of his rarest cards because Topps had his card pulled.

Total greatness. No, it sure isn't chrome, but something a lot better.

Another Hall of Famer in today, my 3rd in 2 days, Hoyt Wilhelm was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985 and passed away in 2002. I got this card in a trade from a vintage board. This should be my last card of the week I hope to have at least 4 more next week to share.

So here's what i find amazing with the progression of your set here....not only that this is stuff i'll never see in person or obtain myself but the stories you put with them about their passings or story of how you obtained it. Great progression keep up the great work & good luck with the rest of it

Ok I got four more in today for my set. These two Hall of Famers take me over 50% of the Hall of Famers in the set. Sid Gordon is a tough one because he died of a heart attack in 1975, he is currently the player I have that has been dead the longest. Gil McDougald is still alive and I usually don't buy living players that sign TTM but for about $3 more then what it would cost me to get a signed copy I was able to pick up a PSA/DNA'ed copy. The prices of each are below
Sid Gordon: $76.67
Richie Ashburn: $22.51
Bob Lemon: $18.27
Gil McDougald: $10.49

Re: 1954 Bowman Autograph Set Progression Thread *Updated 3/21*

I've got four more to share with you guys today. First Sherm Lollar is from Ebay, he passed away in 1977 from cancer, Lollar was a good player in his day making 7 All Star games. The next 3 are from the Chantilly VA show, the show wasn't as good to me for signed vintage as November but I did pick up a signed Rizzuto rc as well as these. Alex Kellner passed away in 1996 and was an all star in his rookie season of 1949 when he became the first "A" to win 20 games since Lefty Grove in 1933. Steve Gromek passed away in 2002 and was also a 1 time all star in 1945 when he went 19-9. Johnny Klippstein passed away in 2003, he was never an All Star but he did tie for the league lead in saves in 1960 with a grand total of 14. I also was able to pick up a stack of 25 unsigned cards that I can use for TTM at the show and I also have 6 incoming from Ebay so I should have quite a few more updates in the next few weeks, if it gets annoying to you guys I'll make it a weekly thing. I also would like to thank Jeff for the Hobie Landrith it arrived today and will go out this week to get signed, thanks buddy.
Prices are below:
Johnny Klippstein: $15
Steve Gromek: $15
Alex Kellner: $15
Sherm Lollar: $59.88

Talmer,
Not annoying one little bit, keeping posting away as you get things in.

By the way, how many cards are you up to now in the set?

Thanks for response Tim. I am up to 85 in hand if my count is correct which I think it is now, 92 with incoming I forgot I had one coming in for Network54. My goal for the end of the year was only 112 which is 50% of the set but I'm going to shatter that goal by July.
