Re: 1954 Bowman Signed Set Thread *Updated 3/29* 92.4%!! Done

It's been just over 2 months since I've been able to update this thread, I actually got both of these on Saturday Gil Hodges was at the Chantilly show for $700 and the Whitey Ford came ttm. Sent with $30 to Ford, it used to be a BVG 4, I have about $50 into that card. I am down to one living player left, Yogi Berra whom I am just waiting to get done at Spring Training so he can start back up ttm. These 2 bring me up to 208/225, hoping this upcoming month brings me a card or 2 but most of what I need still is tough.

Great stuff Talmer! I'm sure the last 10% will be tough, but it is an absolutely beautiful set.

How much does Yogi charge?

Did you notice the lot of signed 54 bowman cards on ebay?I think it was a 27 card lot.

Yogi charges $50 for cards. I did notice the lot on ebay the seller that has it listed now won it about 2 weeks ago for $115 when it was 30 cards, then tried listing them all in 24 hour auctions and was only able to sell 3 including one that should've went closer to $50 for $7.50. He just didn't do a good job of listing them because there are/were some nice cards in the lot.

Holy Crap!! What an accomplishment, Congrats! I was gonna start a 1953 Bowman Color set signed and got to about 12 auto's when I decided to just stick with trying to get the 1965 Topps set signed and maybe go back to the 53' set after the 65' is done, Beautiful cards and good luck on the remaining 7.6%!

Thanks for all the comments guys. I am definitely way farther then I thought I'd ever get but at this point to me 100% is definitely possible. And after dropping $700 on Hodges on Saturday it looks as if I am going to be able to trade some cards I have for another that was offered to me on Sunday. The second Hodges will make great trade material towards one of the ones I am missing. My 2 month old son will have quite the heirloom when he is older....or he might hate them and sell them for a car. Haha

Weird seeing this on the front page when I was on my way to work. Since my last update I have picked up a second Hodges and I have 7 on their way including some very tough ones as soon as I come up with $1600 for them. Guess I shouldn't have bought 3 autographed T206's this week.
