Weird seeing this on the front page when I was on my way to work. Since my last update I have picked up a second Hodges and I have 7 on their way including some very tough ones as soon as I come up with $1600 for them. Guess I shouldn't have bought 3 autographed T206's this week.

Eyes popping out of socket with interest!

Cant wait to see them.

Got 7 out of 17 I was missing in today. Cost me a TON of cash but all these cards are very tough Russ Meyer is the "easiest" having died in 1998 but I have only seen him 1 other time in almost 3 years working on this set.

Nellie Fox-died in 1975- $300
Ellis Kinder- died in 1968- $250
Ebba St. Claire- died in 1982- $150
Al Brazle- died in 1973- $200
Willie "Puddin Head" Jones- died in 1983- $300
Russ Meyer- died in 1998- $40

Finally got all the living players done!!!! I am down to 9 left and working on a deal to get another one in hopefully by the end of the month/beginning of next month. Paid $50 ttm to Yogi glad I got him now because as you can see his signature is getting a little shaky.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's been a lot of time and even more money into this project.

Here is who I still need:
Vern Bickford- died in 1960
Hank Thompson- died in 1969
Clint Courtney- died in 1975
Dale Mitchell- died in 1987
Billy Martin- died in 1989
Roy Campanella- died in 1993
Billy Bruton- died in 1995 (The one I am working on getting)
Hal Rice- died in 1997
Ted Williams- died in 2002

I have seen all but Bickford and Thompson the others were either before I started seriously going after the set or not for sale but I tend to believe all exist.

At the National I was able to meet Bill Corcoran who is a pretty "famous" signed card dealer. I asked him if he had any 1954 Bowman and he said not with him but at his home he was sure he did. He asked who I needed, I gave him my list and he said most are very tough(I knew this) but he thought he might have a couple I needed. Well Monday morning he e-mails me to tell me he has Bill Bruton and Dale Mitchell. I didn't really care what price he wanted for them I was buying them after not getting much at the National. For $150 I was able to knock 2 of 9 off my list and was very pleased with his service and the condition of the cards.
