1980's Topps Football Pack Rip - 1981-1989

I'm celebrating Memorial Day by ripping a complete 1980's Topps football run with a 1983 Fleer throw in for fun. I'm milking these for as much enjoyment as possible so its going to be slow going and I may be showcasing some average but hopefully above average cards but its all in good fun. So happy Memorial Day to everyone.

Up first..1989 Topps.

No rookies or HOF's in this one.

Next up...1988 Topps. This is the only pack the did not have a tight seal. But hey, its 1988 Topps, so I'm not too worried.

Not bad, 3 HOF'ers.

1987 Topps.

So good so far. Condition is nice and centering is great. Let's hope the Montana trend continues.

1986 Topps

Condition still looking good; centering a little random. A couple of HOF'ers in this one. The Dickerson has that extra color and gloss that its seems some of the 86's have. You can see how much more green the borders are than the LT. One other card in the pack was this way.

Pretty cool. I was 3 or younger (or not born) for all of these, so I'm loving it. It's vintage to me, lol.

Any chance that Kosar/Montana is something going up for trade? I could use it since Kosar is from The U. Of course, I'd see if we could work out a trade for more than just an 88 common :lol:

Pack was a total dud other than the Elway sticker. But the condition was great! lol.

Well, it didn't have any rookies but I can't complain about 4 HOF'ers in one pack.

Alright, a bit of a tangent. 1983 Fleer Football. I don't know how Fleer thought they could compete without the players rights but that didn't stop them from trying. Not sure what the price point was on these back in the day but only 7 cards per pack surely didn't help them.

1982 Topps

Okay, another pack with no rookies or HOF'ers. Come to speak of it. No rookies out of anything except the Tippet. Maybe its all saved up for the 81.

Well, here we go.....1981 Topps. These are wrapped in 1979 wrappers. Not sure of the story behind it but I would imagine the wrappers were overstock and Topps figured no one would notice. If anyone knows more, I would love to hear it.

As with all of the other packs tonight, this one has nice solid wax rollers marks going the full width of the pack. Nice original folds. I feel confident this is an untampered pack. But then again, I'm a novice at this.

I was hoping for a little more star power but its sure been fun. Hope you guys enjoyed it too.
