He has and will continue to sign it (unofficially). There was a time when he refused, but time heals all wounds...
Updated the http://www.billripken.com website this week. Keep the ideas coming...

Did anyone see this card last month? Pretty funny if it's real. Can't believe it sold for that price.

That bat table is great. Needs a corked one included....

This is not real... someone on this board does this with cards as a joke... you can just rub off the auto and then write whatever you want ::facepalm::

I agree. That "The U" card was too good to be true. Someone took a $100 stab at it.

links on Bill accusing Fleer for actually re-writing or enhancing the lettering and/or positioning the words right side up.

Thanks again to Darren Rovell to getting the truth from Bill and to include my name in the article. Definitely a highlight in my collecting.

As for signing cards- Story err unconfirmed rumor goes Bill had a deal to sign xx cards to get some cash for his wedding with a promise not to sign anymore. Heard he refused to sign others because he was "embarrased". Unsure if that's true or because of this deal he had in place. Then he started signing again. I think I came across a article mentioning the wedding. If so, it'll be in the billripken.com article section.

With the similar copycat card '90 Pacific Senior Nettles, he'll sign but admitted in a article he intentionally covers the bat knob cuss word with his sig. Only seen 1 card that he "missed his mark".

From what I remember, you are correct. It was a term Beckett used to refer to the error without having to say XXXX. On a side note, I recall Billy stating that this was actually a photoshop job by FLEER and never did he have a bat knob with such things written on it. To that end, I do not believe he would sign it..
