Wow, sick. Wasn't there a member here that picked up like 50 of these at the National for dirt cheap? Like less than $1 each?

I have 4 Trammells, never spending more than 30. I believe 2 of them to be fake though.

Holy crap. I remember at least one serious Brett collector on another board who was hunting for one. I don't think he had ever seen one up to that point. That's just insane. Yes, JVC found a bunch at the National but I don't think any were "stars" per say

My only Aqueous...it wouldn't be in my collection anymore for that kind of cheese.

Do they have the glossy finish?

Whats the difference in these compared to base cards? Someone buys a stamp and a 20 card lot off eBay.... stamps 2-3 of those and buys a car.

$15 well spent.

[ebay:r7nr1pf7]200685580609[/ebay:r7nr1pf7] - 50 card lot.

$175,000!!!!!! Who needs to work for a living.

They are slightly more glossy, but only noticeable when side by side. The "Aqueous Test" isn't stamped, rather, printed on to the card.

I don't see how this can be a real sale. It's a $40-$200 card tops.

I can almost guarantee it has something to do with the PSA registry.

Well that Brett has to be fake. The Aqueous Test is darker. If printed at the same time as the rest of the stats.... shouldnt it be the same color?

I wonder if a two Brett collectors did not want to risk losing it, and both put in crazy snipes just to cover their asses...and unfortunately they ended up butting heads in the final seconds. This was crazy.

Look at the snipe fight at closing.

Looks like the guy I talked to came in 2nd with a $3500 bid.

sigh, so dumb

Why is this dumb? You’re obviously not a player collector. Brett is an iconic player and this very well may be the only example of this card in existence. For player collectors many consider the 1990 Donruss Aqueuos to be the “Holy Grail.” I have been actively following this issue for years looking for the Ozzie and I have never seen a George Brett. There may be others but I haven’t seen one in over 12 years.
