If you don't go pre-war, this would be a decent idea...I don't suggest spending more than $100 on prospecting, ever. I didn't know prospecting was still such a big deal until I joined this forum.

supers are the most cherished in a collection!

Seriously, if you don't go vintage, I would suggest some Game Used stuff, nice Ruth and Gehrig game used cards or take advantage of our slumping economy and invest it in the market. Just my opinion.
