I would donate but its not during the school year right now. We usually have around 3-4 blood drives every year.

Couldn't you still donate at a local blood center or Red Cross?

Great contest, and an even greater cause. I used to donate when I was in the Air Force (1984-1990). My motivation at the time was a day of leave per donation. After I separated, I stopped donating - no more motivation, or so I thought. I'd been out 11 years & 1 day when the cowardly murdering terrorist POS attacked our country, and the next day I went into my local hospital to resume donations. My last donation was on 7/28 - now at 43 total donations - almost 5 1/2 gallons. Even better, my daughter went with me and donated her first pint - that was really cool!

I've got a scan of my donation slip all ready to send - just let me know when you want me to send it over.

Was this because of some major environment health issue? I don't understand why this would even come up. They don't ask these question at my place where we give blood.

I believe it's because of Mad Cow disease, or at least the possibility that you might be carrying it. I lived in England for a semester of college, and am now disqualified from giving blood for that reason (I don't have it, but I'm excluded just the same). Ironically, I only found out about that rule because I tried to organize a blood drive myself.

As said previously, its the possibility of CJD (human version of mad cow disease). You can go check again, but I doubt the rules have changed, and they are in place for the safety of those who are receiving blood, so you are probably going to get rejected again.

Wasn't able to go yesterday, I'm hoping to have better luck tomorrow after work. Also I don't have a scanner as of yet, so I will need to send it to you psychic-ly, lol.

When I was at my LCS on Friday and told the owner what we were doing, he donated a few cards for the prizes. A big thank you to Nick's Sports Cards in Richardson, TX.

Nick is always a great guy back in '04/'05 his shop was one I went to to get Thomas cards. I considered his shop my LCS even though I live in Tyler,TX :lol:
