I'd really like to see BG answer for this one...

Case 1

2010 Bowman Strasburg Orange Ref 25/25 BGS 9
08-09 UD Steven Stamkos RC BGS 9.5
96-97 Finest Kobe Bryant RC BGS 9.5
05-06 Alex Ovechkin SPA RC Auto BGS 10
2008 BDPP Buster Posey RC Auto BGS 9
03-04 Topps Pristine Chris Bosh RC BGS 10 (ugh, really?)

This is where it gets interesting....

Case 2

03-04 Topps Chrome Lebron RC BGS 9.5
2001 UD Tiger Woods BGS 10
2007 Bowman Sterling Prospect David Price RC Auto BGS 9.5
1994 SP Alex Rodriguez BGS 8.5
2006 SPX Rookie Gold Jay Cutler RC Auto BGS 9.5

and...

03-04 Topps Chrome Lebron RC BGS 9

So BG...these "hand collated" cases, was anyone paying attention? This is the SECOND time that someone has opened a case of your product and gotten the same card twice. How is that possible? It's a shame, it was a fun break, until that last card. Had I known the QC would be so "top notch" I wouldn't have ordered as many as I did, and unfortunately I have a couple more cases coming...really hoping I don't see any more "doubles" in the same "hand collated" case.

Oh, and about BGS grading...what a crock, the Strasburg is graded a 9 OVR with subs of 9.5, 9.5, 9, 8.5
I saw another graded orange on eBay, also a 9 with subs of 8.5, 9, 9, 9. Just curious how they figure the two 9.5s don't bump the card to a 9.5 OVR. Meanwhile the guy who has NO subs over a 9, gets a 9 too.

your break was fairly decent imo. until his injury, that strasburg was probably one of the nicer modern cards in the set. even now, it's a heckuva a pull. as for your BGS complaint, you're not going to see a 9.5 w/ an 8.5 sub. while your card is nicer overall than the one you mentioned, grading is subjective and there is a wide range of mint...you're card is on the high end, just below gem due to the 8.5

Oh, I wouldn't say "very well". I did fine, no super hits, the Stras is very nice, and being a real live Natinals fan I may hold onto it until he comes back. Haven't decided yet. But nothing else about the breaks really jumps out. I would do a rundown of the avg eBay sales like one of the other guys is doing, but I'm too tired right now.

And besides, for the second time in 2 days someone has busted a case of RRR with duplicates in it. That is just unacceptable for a "high-end" product that was done "by hand". Still can't believe it, once is a fluke...twice?! that's just poor business.

At the height of the Strasmania, didn't the Orange Ref /25 get up to $800-1000?

There is a 3rd one on Blowout. Guy pulled 2 Duchene SP Authentic autos in 1 case.

I still think the hand collation was with sealed boxes based on value, stacked in piles, with the biggest pile being 'common' value so many of the same card could be next to eachother?

The only Ovechkin 10 is on Ebay for $1500 OBO.. that first case seems pretty good to me.

On the grading---I think the overall grade cant be more than .5 better than the lowest sub.

Wow...tough crowd. If I had pulled those, I would have been pretty happy. Being a bandwagon Nats fan, and an "Anything DC sports team" fan...I would be floored with Ovi and Stras.

Of the box breaks I've seen so far, this is probably top 5?

And honestly, I would have been happy with doubles. You don't have to think twice about selling one of them.

AND

I agree with coltsandsox07. When BG said hand collated, I was thinking it was by value, not by the actual card. Maybe he should have shuffled them better.

First case is about $1700... second $500 to $600+ depending on if the Woods has quad 10's or not. Not going to make money overall but a very respectable return... I like how you don't even mention the Ovie, a 4 figure card.

Though I will agree, hand collated cases shouldn't have dupes. And that's the way BGS works... pretty sure we all accepted this years ago. Subs average 9.125, do you really think they should round that up to a 9.5? No...

Sorry it just seems like you are ticked off for no reason... sorry you didn't the Stras?

Nice breaks and thanks for sharing.

Sometimes poor collation can work in your favor, so I don't necessarily always see it as a bad thing.

Good luck on your next two cases!

I wasn't complaining about the first case. I was jumping for joy. The second case brought me back to earth, and that last card just pissed me off.

Also, I don't see how that Ovie is $800-1000. There is another 10 for $1500 unsold, a 9.5 for $800 unsold, and a 9 that has no bids at $450. Unfortunately it's not the patch auto, which an ungraded one just sold for $1025. I'd guess it's about a $500-$600 tops. Still an awesome pull.

(P.S. Am I grossly understimating the value of a 10 grade over a 9.5?)

So being a DC guy, how lucky (or unlucky?) is it that I pull both the Strasburg AND the Ovie. Wonder if they were packed and sent to BO (in VA) like that for a reason? I hope so, I got 4 cases coming from Atlantasportscards. C'mon Heyward Super! :D Anyway, here's my best guesstimate on value.

2010 Bowman Strasburg Orange Ref 25/25 BGS 9 - $450
08-09 UD Steven Stamkos RC BGS 9.5 - $75
96-97 Finest Kobe Bryant RC BGS 9.5 - $65
05-06 Alex Ovechkin SPA RC Auto BGS 10 - $600
2008 BDPP Buster Posey RC Auto BGS 9 - $100
03-04 Topps Pristine Chris Bosh RC BGS 10 - $20 (ugh, really?)

Total - $1310 - Lol, case price = win

Case 2

03-04 Topps Chrome Lebron RC BGS 9.5 - $120
2001 UD Tiger Woods BGS 10 - $75 ??? All over the place. One sold for $96 and a lot of 4 sold for $50
2007 Bowman Sterling Prospect David Price RC Auto BGS 9.5 - $55
1994 SP Alex Rodriguez BGS 8.5 - $70
2006 SPX Rookie Gold Jay Cutler RC Auto BGS 9.5 - $125-250 Not sure whether I have the /299 or /1299 although
03-04 Topps Chrome Lebron RC BGS 9 - $75

Total - $515 and I really think that's generous. Probably more like $450
