Man, for the last few months I have been hit in the stomach every time. The hurt continues. What a mess.

Daniel Schlereth Rookie Auto 102/249
Satchel Paige Century Timeline 5/10
Maury Wills 113/249
Marty Marion 115/249

Box 2

Top Loader Arky Vaughan Dual Bat 83/89

Dwight Gooden Single Jersey "P" 88/99
Tony Gwynn Timeline 44/50
Denny McLain 242/249
Will Clark 69/249

Yeah, I know, a few low numbered cards but they have a zillion variations in the issue.

Hopefully my two boxes from Blowout arriving soon will be better. All I want is a colored patch of someone.

I am glad some of you think some of the cards are nice. My judgment based on two boxes is skewed I guess. We'll see what the next boxes look like on Friday.

My complaint lies in the looks of the cards that are low numbered. They are just too plain with the plain backgrounds.

Come on, you could at least have some color in the Sandberg 1/1.

Hey, let's put a regular Gwynn is a piece of plastic and only issue 4 of them and include it as the biggest hit in the box. Come on again.

Good luck on your next boxes Craig. Hope you pull some O's ;)
Great hit on the Gwynn

The Sandberg, Paige, & Vaughn are nice pulls. The will bring you some coin if you decide to sell.

Hey, Craig. Hope all is well. The Sandberg 1/1 should do relatively well. While I think you certainly "lost money", I don't think the carnage is horrible.

Hi Jeff. Yeah, I am still hanging in there. I seem to always have something physical happening. Latest is an upper Aortic Aneurism at 4.5 Millimeters that will have to be attended to before long. Always seems to be something going downhill as we get older. My previous lifestyle is catching up with me.

The money angle is not that important to me, I am just disappointed because I wanted a colored patch of some kind.

Ugh. Not happy to hear about the aneurism. Get it taken care of before it's too late. . . as for a colored patch... put the stuff you don't want on eBay and buy box #3!

I'm trying to collect game used for all HOFers. That Arky Vaughan is a tough get. If it's available for trade, please check my bucket. Thanks.

Craig,
+1
I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you list the Sandberg. He has a crazy following and I think you will do very well (at least the price of one box back.) The Gwynn should do well to (probably 2/3 of your box back). Ebay them and get your money back and bust 2 more! :D *Any product where you get at least 1/2 your box $ back is a hit.

PS: If the Top Loader Arky Vaughan Dual Bat 83/89 is available PLEASE let me know!

Thanks
Joe

I think I am being misunderstood on my posting.

Am I happy to get a Gwynn auto 2/4? Yes
Am I happy to get a Sandberg 1/1? Yes

What I do not like is that Donruss is using a numbering system to justify inserting "plain, multi-tiered" cards and making them the "big hit" in a very high-end product.

If it is a special card, ie., Sandberg then make it special. Do something different; use a colored patch, etc. to make it different from other cards. Nuff said.....

I have been collecting cards since 1949 and have opened more packs than most of you will ever see in your lifetime.

I am just disappointed in this issue from the price point. As stated before, I will try again Friday night.

Jeff, thanks for your comment, but I am no different from any other member. Well, I might be since I am a "smelly old man". :)

The Sandberg looks like any other jersey card. I completely understand Craig's dissatisfaction w/ the product.

   He is a 3000 club member and acually did something for baseball. On a side note yes if these companys make their 1/1's they need to make them stand out. Like make it refractorish or instead of a jersey a sick patch, I mean its a 1/1 and needs to be significantly different. I liked your pulls :) .
