It's a bit disconcerting that Topps is pimping their "Commemorative Patches" in each 10 pack Retail Blaster. How good could they be if they're in every box, right?

So I buy two of them yesterday, and I'm expecting patches of, ya know, Humberton Quintero and Mike MacDougal. To my surprise I pulled the following two full patches:

Juan Marichal 1967 All-Star Game

Mariano Rivera 2008 Yankee Stadium Final Season

It doesn't appear Beckett is pricing them in the June Issue, and given the fact that they're not Serial Numbered I don't expect them to be all that valuable, but who doesn't like a patch card, right? These two are gorgeous.

Anybody else have experience pulling these comm patches out of Topps?

You get one per box.
I got an Evan Longoria from the League Championship Series

Right, exactly, but they're still awfully cool looking cards I thought.

I collected patches as a kid. The 8 year old in me is giddy seeing those. The adult is attempting to keep from hoarding anything anymore.

Pretty cool if you ask me. They don't pretend that they are game worn.

My thoughts exactly Justin, I think they're great.

The patches are available for sale/trade. PM me if you're interested.

Topps has done this for a few years now...I have sold several of these for anywhere between $10 and $25 each...so its a nice bit of added value to the $19.99 blaster...they are nice looking cards

I had a Cepada I pulled from my one blaster.. figured I was going to own that thing forever but got lucky and a guy actually asked for it in trade for some Canseco cards I needed. I couldn't make that deal fast enough to be honest because these things are nothing more than a common GU'ed value!

Oh I definitely agree in terms of value. I'm not all about book value, I love the cards. I think it's great, value or no value, that Topps does this in Retail Boxes.
