2002 Finest Moments Autos - Mailday

Hey guys. Just got this is the mail thanks to a fellow blogger.

I LOVE the look of these cards and am thinking about putting the set together. I already found the checklist (16 cards total), and most of the prices on eBay. I should be able to do the rest of the set for less than $400.

My problem is, I can find no trace anywhere of the Joe Morgan card. Not on eBay, Beckett, CheckOutMyCards, Collector Revolution, Naxcom, not even at Burbank.

Does any body know if this card was omitted from the set or SEVERELY shortprinted? Doing the set is kinda pointless without it.

Doesn't exist. At that time, Topps had a habit of putting alternates on its early checklists. Sometimes, these were sent to Beckett before they were finalized. In this case, Morgan was taken off the list after the pre-order sales were determined to be too low to need another player on the auto checklist.

Great set, BTW. I have it myself.

awesome set for sure, you should try putting the 2004 set together as well

I am 2 cards shy of having the 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 sets....all of them are nice, however, for some reason, the 2002 in particular seems to have an issue of fading. I need to find a Mike Schmidt replacement becuase my schmidt has faded bad.....and I have kept it in a one-touch magnet case, in a box, in a safe, and it is still fading......

Anyone else having this problem with the 02 finest???

I had a 2002 Schmidt that was awfully faded, was able to trade it away and pick up another, much better copy. Maybe one of the pens he used was bad? Did yours fade over time, or has it been like that as long as you've had it?

BTW, one of my favorite aspects of this set is the reverse negative on the Schmidt auto. OOPS! Didn't even realize it until Schmidt himself pointed it out to the representative who witnessed him sign them.
