How is this stuff $50 a box?

No clue. 30-35 seems a lot more reasonable. The lowest price found so far is 37, but only one available; perhaps others would match that, or go lower?

Yea, I could see 30-35. There are no big hits in this set, and the rarest parallel card in it sells for a buck or two. Even at that, with such a huge checklist the odds of getting a good player aren't great. I would think if someone was willing to buy quantity then the dealers would be willing to move this cheaper. It's been on their shelves since 2006, and at this rate it isn't getting any more valuable.

What's amazing is that it was like $80 when it came out. Does anyone remembers for sure?

Aren't there about 4 autos a box?

You're probably going to get John Hattig, Hong Chih Kuo, Jeremy Accardo, and Taylor Buchholz, but you do get a few. :)

I know Wainwright is in the set. I have the Green and the Red.

If people are still interested in breaking some of this, I finally got the pricing info from Georgetown Card Exchange. It is $49.95/box, or $47.95/box for an order of 10 or more. A sealed 18-box case is available.

i could run a player break if there is enough interest. i would need permission from the mods. i have run three player breaks in the past. with the massive checklist, each player would roughly be $1-$3 (depending on who). and probably a requirement would be 3 player minimum to fill out the checklist...

I'm interested in the usual suspects (Shoppach, Hanley, Billingsley). Probably in for some other cheap guys.

For sure, I'd do Wainwright, Ryan Franklin. I don't know who else is in the set.

I'd be down for Gomes, Matt Diaz and Joey Gathright.

Well, this is probably premature, but just in case. I call dibs on Biggio, Bagwell and Griffey (for a friend).

Does anyone have anything other than our own rumors that these are actually SP'd?

Shortly after the product went live and people were discussing the scarcity of these I was able to track down all 8 V-Mart parallels in a day.

Here are some responses from earlier in the thread:

Couldn't find them anywhere online, but were there odds printed for the unnumbered parallel? I have some recollection of that being used to calculate the print run at 23. But I could be crazy.

People who did open cases said that their stacks of blues were half the size of the stacks #/50, so 25 seems like a reasonable guess, anywhere 20-30 copies.
