I have nothing against the way the current break is setup, from randomness of the team selection or the way the case break happens to unfold, I just thought people might like to see the (1) incredible “non baseball” slot broken up into (2) great slots.

I looked over the scans from the previous 2 case breaks and came up with these results (minus the redemptions, because I didn’t look them up on the checklist)

Case 1
(14) Coaches auto’s, material and serial numbered status cards
(19) Non baseball Athlete auto’s, material and serial numbered status cards.
Case 2
(12) Coaches auto’s, material and serial numbered status cards
(13) Non baseball Athlete auto’s, material and serial numbered status cards.

So, I guess my original assessment was incorrect; the “non baseball athletes” slot not the “coaches” had the slightly higher number of hits.

Just a quick “hit” comparison with the highest totals for a given baseball team that I counted from case #2 and again these don’t include redemptions that may also go to one of these teams and I may have missed 1 or 2 cards, which didn't list the team name on the front.

8 Cincinnati Reds autographed, material and serial numbered status cards
8 San Diego Padres autographed, material and serial numbered status cards
7 St. Louis Cardinals autographed, material and serial numbered status cards
6 Texas Rangers autographed, material and serial numbered status cards

I had the misc spot in the first case.. was exciting to get but would move them if you are interested.... I have no problem selling .... thing is, yeah , you get a lot of autos, but no one wants most of them or trades or buys them..... coaches for the most part... I have not been able to move a coaches auto at all via trade or sale.... so granted, the spot is nice, but unless you collect coaches it is not that great.... I do admit, the other part of the misc, non-coaches, is very nice and worth the spot....

I have weather's cards from the last break right here, they are going out Monday or tuesday. I just ran out of card holders. Seems like I buy a box of 1000 every other week.

I will count the misc and see how many coaches vs other misc there is.

Maybe we add another slot? Will let you all know the numbers later tonight. Heading out to dinner and some fun, the kids are sleeping out tonight.

While I and most likely everyone else in this break would prefer to have one of the baseball slots (that have a few decent players/cards pulled) I would gladly take the non sports slot(s) over a team slot with little to no cards at all, which is why I’m proposing the idea of splitting up this miscellaneous slot.

I understand the non sports athletes slot would be better than the coaches, but the same can be said when comparing all of the slots. The Yankees slot is likely better than the Astros slot, but you never know what will be pulled.

I think a nice Tom Osborne, Steve Spurrier, Ara Parseghian or other coach auto would sell just as well, if not better than a large number of the baseball players in this set, of course not as well as the bigger name rookies.

I see no reason why there should be this one "super slot" that has been getting an average of 2-3x the amount of hits as the best regular team slot, when it can be easily broken up into two less than super, but still great slots.

If no one else agrees with me, I will completely understand. I was just tossing out an idea
