I bought this box toward the end of the football season and found it in my closet this past week and decided to break it. I should have just sold it as I paid only $50 for the box and now they sell for over $70 a box. This is an interesting product as it combines hall of famers with minor leagues stars to create a product that appeals to collectors of the all-time greats with prospectors looking for the next superstar. There are many key players in this set including future stars Mike Stanton, Gordon Beckham and Jesus Montero, but also autographs of Stan Musial, Pete Rose and Hank Aaron. Panini has a good idea of what they are trying to create in this set and it shows with the content. This is how I did:
Numbered Inserts:
Stan Musial (Baseball Americana) 204/500
Phil Niekro (Diamond Kings) 3/100
Michael Burgess (Diamond Kings Framed) 10/25
Hank Aaron (Spectrum) 73/100
Yefri Caraival (Green) 10/250
Hits:
Tony Gwynn (Baseball Americana Dual Jersey) 89/100
Pete Rose (Diamond Kings Dual Jersey) 79/100
Danny Duffy (223/499)
Scott Moviel (213/1000)
Tyler Flowers (167/999)
Tyler Flowers (201/999)
Overall it was a good box. Got 6 hits instead of the usual 4. The 2 game used cards are cool as they were of former superstars. The 4 autos were good as Tyler Flowers is an emerging star for the White Sox. Here is to the gallery onmy blog:
