2008 Topps Sterling 10-Box Case Break...oh, the pain.

Wow.

I haven't been kicked in the balls like this since...well, the last time I was actually kicked in the balls.

I'm going to make this quick and dirty because I have to go somewhere...will post scans at some point when I have time, just wanted to get the word out.

The boxes were (all out of /10, no 1/1s):

Bench (Jumbo auto 1-color patch)
Gwynn (Plain GU)
Yount (Auto GU)
Molitor (Auto GU)
Musial (Plain GU)
Banks (Auto GU)
Seaver (Plain GU)
Whitey Ford (Auto GU)
Nolan (Auto Patch)
Yaz (Plain GU)

(notice, no CMG guys)

Got one 1/1 jumbo swatch in the mystery packs, plain jersey of Eddie Murray (Mets)
One 1/1 parallel in the mystery packs, Ryno (it IS nice, can't complain about that)

The Bench is real nice, love the Nolan.

But the lack of big-name guys really killed this for me. I was expecting at least one of the CMG guys or other top-tier (mantle, dimaggio, clemente). Not so much.

If you guys think otherwise, let me know...but it seems to me like a pretty terrible break. Especially when I dropped over 2 stacks

ouch, I liked last year when you knew you were getting a Bonds box and a Mantle box and 2 1/1's. There are no case hits this year. Bad idea topps.

I may be the only one that thinks this but to me all those guys are "Big Guy Hits" to me . I mean atleast you dint get Justin Morneau or David Wright, David Ortiz. I mean no disrespect to the guys I mentioned but none of them have 500hrs, 3000 hits, Ec ect. You pulled all Hoffers . Now one thing I can agree with is, these hofers do not transition to big time money and for the amount that you paid you should have recieved a letter patch (like last year) and either a clemente or mantle and a possible better chance at ruth so I feel your pain in the money department. Thanks for taking the chance and letting us know. I would still like to see scans when you get a chance.

That's exactly what I thought. Ouch on the rest of the case, but the auto'd Sterling swatches seem to be selling well.
