First off, sorry I haven't figured out how to link here. Please check item #320945673936 including his description of the item and see if anyone of you would pay the full amount if you received this.......

Please note that the red lines are all creases. Eight in front and Five on the back of the card. The card came in bubble wrap, top loader and Penney sleeve and taped shut. As far as I can tell, the card was damaged before he placed it inside the top loader as there is no evidence of damage to the top loader as you can see.

I tried to message the seller but after one week of no response, I left him a negative. Opinions please....

I don't see how I should end up being out a couple of bucks for the sellers fault. I bought and paid for the card in good faith and the seller purposely did not mention anything wrong with the card and now it will end up costing me a couple of bucks? Doesn't feel right. What did the seller lose?

When making this purchase, you agreed to those terms.
But when making the purchase they both agreed on "Card in scan is exact card you will receive!" (interpret that sentence as you will) but I believe its not the same card because the condition is different. So the seller should cover the shipping back since the OP said it looks like it was bent placing the card in the holder. I think more than likely the seller effed up packaging it and didn't want to lose out on $30 so sent it anyways. On the other hand, if the Post Office bent the card then I would say no the seller shouldn't pay.

Well the seller will lose money on the card because more than likely he will have to relist it with the damage you have pointed out, not only that he loses out on the amount it cost him to ship the card to you in the first place and more importantly he is losing out on a potientially good buyer in yourself !

It's the same card because the serial number is the same as #08/25. His jersey number.

I don't think the Post Office have anything to do with the creases. As you can see on the second set of scans, the top loader have no damage at all. He used a brand new top loader and I don't even see a scratch on it.

I am viewing the auction image, it is clear on my screen and I can't see those creases. Looks like the card was damaged during shipping. With that said the seller must get the item to you safely.

If you can live without the card you should open a claim, eBay will tell you if you must pay shipping or not, even though it is in his description.

This is actually my second copy. I bid on this because it's serial numbered #08/25. Ripken's jersey number. Even so, I wouldn't have bid on it if I knew the card has this much damage on it. Here's a scan of my other one.

Cards with those big patch windows can get damaged by pressure pushing on the patch. Wouldn't necessarily damage the topload because it isn't actually bending the card. I can't see anything in the eBay photo that shows damage so it could very likely be shipping damage from not the best packaging job.

Sorry about the situation, always disappointing when you're expecting a great mailday and the card(s) are not in the condition expected. I've had many instances where I've had to bite the bullet and pay the return shipping, and while I agree with you in principle that you're essentially paying for nothing, it's just something you have to deal with. However, I have found that many ebay sellers do provide great customer service, and will offer to refund return shipping charges - these are the exception, but they do exist.

It definitely sucks that you got a creased card, no doubt. However, think of it this way, if you bought a blender at Target and you got home and it didn't work, what would you do?
You'd return it Target and get your money back right? Would you ever ask them to reimburse you for the gas to drive back? Probably not.
Yes it sucks but it's just one of those things.

I agree with you. A great many of them would or at least try to work it out by offering partial refund or whatever the case maybe. This one won't even reply to my message and it's been a week.
