Normal Topps now has chrome in it? Are they not doing a separate chrome release?

There's no info on any chrome release, so I'm going to have to guess no at this point.

You probably already knew, but they lost their NBA license.....someone on here said they had a certain date that they can continue to produce cards (November?)...so that's why they probably decided to produce the regular Topps set and then throw those in. I haven't heard what they plan on doing once they lose the license - so I guess there's always a chance they may create some sort of unlicensed product in the future and use the chrome name as a selling point.

On a positive note, having the chrome cards 2 per box or whatever may make it a valuable set and it seems they are throwing a ton of nice stuff into regular Topps.

This is similar to the Bowman DPP/Bowman Chrome DPP they did in for 2005-06. I don't know if it's their usual practice, but I remember it from that season.

Two chrome cards in every pack.

It's because Topps can't make hoops cards after a certain upcoming date, Oct. 1st I think.

I personally am not impressed, especially by the gold refractors. Since they did college photos, most are only head shots, and IMO that sucks. Oh well, maybe I can pick up some older ones instead.

Seemed like the break cgilmo did had a lot more than 2 per box. He got 2 Blake Griffin Chromes in the box.

With the time frame they had I guess they really had no choice but to use the college pictures.

Personally, I like the cards and really like the fact that they are limited /999, /500, /50 and /1, rather than last year where you had base chrome, ref - both unnumbered, orange /499, gold /50, xfractor /288, red /5, super /1 and then all the auto'd chrome cards on top of that!
