I don't think I am opening any boxes this year. What a horrible checklist.

I had high hopes that without Razor to compete with Topps would come out with some awesome products this year, I should have known better.

Phil, remember that Razor offered some players (i.e. Boras clients) more than Topps did to sign with them last year.

Basically, their offer became the new measuring stick.

I believe Razor has raised the bar, keeping players from accepting the "piddly amount" that Topps offered.

Essentially, they screwed it up for the hobby.

Markets change all the time and clients react, its called supply and demand. Demand goes down and their is still the same supply, eventually supply will start being sold for less to meet demand or Topps will raise their offer to get some supply, probably somewhere in the middle. These markets just aren't nearly as efficient as equity markets AND you have one person (Boras) controlling the grand majority of the contracts.

What is their alternative? Sit on their hands and accept $0, boy, they've really stuck it to them there. Eventually Boras and others will realize that those prices don't exist anymore and settle for less, maybe not this year but the next.

Additionally, I believe there were instances where Topps offered MORE than Razor last year but the way they treated people (customer service if you will) made those clients sign with Razor.

The only person who screwed this up is Topps.

Am I actually going to outbid Beefy for the Stolmy Red?

Probably not, but I'll try.

Eh I got the one I want. Probably won't go hard after Sterlings.

I certainly hope they don't spell Pat's name this way on the cards: "Pat Vendetti"

Also, I could be mistaken, but I believe this is Jose Ceda's first card as well. Not auto'd, though.

He is 2009 Bowman Prospects and 2009 Bowman Chrome Prospects

My bad.
these too :D

It's official. The Bowman line is DEAD.

What kind of crap is this? It's turning into an upper deck future stars product.

Rehashed Beckham "rookie" that's a second year card?

Another second year dual beckham/posey dual.

CRAP player selection.

This is the final demise of something that was once beautiful.

It was fun while it lasted, Bowman.

I've asked it before, and no one really answered, but with the restrictions of Boras not signing his guys with Topps, the fact that Stickers are just a given, what changes would you make to it? What would overhaul the checklist so much that anyone would actually be happy. Since it seems like no matter what no one is happy.

Rob, why are stickers a given when Bowman, BC, and BDP are on-card?

Wouldn't you want your high-end prospect offering to be the best of the 4??

That's the point. Topps really can't do anything. With the environment the way it is now, with all these "rookie" rule changes, exclusives, etc. etc. , what was once a wonderful thing has died. It's over. It's like calling today's pop music "real music"- it's just worthless fluff, unoriginal, uninspired, and frankly something I would never spend a dime on or ever listen to. I guess you can just call me an old-time, crotchety bowman vet. Back in the day, I had to actually go to a card show or a card shop to purchase cards- Belive it or not, it's true...........

i think the torches and pitchfork line of discussion is a bit much

there are many quality draft picks on that list that are big prospects

yes, it lacks starpower, but so did this years draft outside of Strasberg

Obviously someone at Topps wants these at stickers, is it great? No, but people have dealt with this for years now, and the product continues to sell well.

Like the design. But, darn it all! I just want to see someone produce an Alex Avila card. Sorry for the broken record from other posts of mine.

So looking at the sell sheet, I am kind of confused:

There are 6 rookie logo cards, and 6 rookie logo autos per box.

But there are only 10 rookie logo autograph players, but 50 rookie logo players.

Does that mean that the non autographed rookie logo cards are going to be rarer than the autographed ones?
