What would overhaul the checklist so much that anyone would actually be happy. Since it seems like no matter what no one is happy.
Rob, there are many, many prospects out there who are virtually unknown to the mainstream (but would be quite popular to the more hardcore prospectors out there) that Topps has yet to touch. They may assume these guys wouldn't be in demand and wouldn't be worth the high SRP, but fail to take into account that in this day and age, there are virtually no secrets anymore where prospects are concerned, and thus, would actually sell extremely well, especially if there are rare parallels attached to it.
To accomplish this feat though, Topps would likely have to ditch the mainstream aspect of this product and omit the veteran relics, MLB rookies and basically all non-first year players to make this product concentrate solely on prospects. Razor didn't accomplish their desired level of popularity when they attempted this because they are still in their infancy in this field. However, Topps could pull it off nicely, IMO, given their reputation.
I would like to see just one product per year include these guys. Sterling would be my likely choice to be this product. Perhaps give it a new name as well, such as Bowman Sterling Prospect Edition.
And I would gladly volunteer to give Topps a complete list of the aforementioned names, if they in fact wanted to take this project under their wing.
