What about Alex Smith? I think he's had more TD's this year than his entire career. Also, his first 300 yard passing game.

If he wasn't 0 for 5 when the outcome of the game is in his hands, I would agree with you.

He has failed countless times. He will never be good.
nope he willnever be as good as pierre thomas

LOL - did you even watch the game yesterday? He had 1 miserable drive, and then as he was leading them in a drive that would have scored them points, Gore fumbled. Wouldn't that drive had changed the outcome of the game if they had scored a TD? Give me a break - football is a team sport. If coaches and other players make mistakes - let's just blame the QB because he can't pull off the miraculous win at the end of the game. With all your anti-Alex Smith - it makes me wonder if you're Shaun Hill's little brother.

0 for 5 is not a coincidence, its a trend.

He won't even beat the rams OR the Lions.

0 for 5? Are you conveniently skipping the Jags game? Are you ignoring the Seahawks game in a couple of years back where he brought the Niners back to beat the Hawks? What happens if he beats the Cards on MNF? Will you promise to never say anything bad about him again? What if he beats the Rams or the Lions? LOL. I personally don't think Alex Smith can beat the Rams or Lions by himself, but I'd be happy if the whole team beats the crap out of them.

While we're on the Alex Smith topic, I'm just going to say it...

Ken Dorsey > Shaun Hill. Dorsey's won a championship.
Tim Rattay > Alex Smith. Rattay has won a championship.

Umm...

Dorsey was the main reason The U won their championship. He was co-MVP of the 02 Rose Bowl, and I don't think he lost a single regular season game as a starting QB for the Hurricanes.

Tim Rattay though only stepped in at the end of the season for an injured JP Losman, but did win the UFL Championship game this year where he threw two TD passes.

*Just pointing out, I never said their championships were in the NFL 8-)

;) UFL. I heard they paid people go to the championship game. JJ Stokes got a Super Bowl ring sitting on the bench for the Pats too. Just saying. :) I always liked Dorsey - he just never threw hard enough for the NFL. Rattay blech. :)

I didn't know Stokes was with the Pats. I guess that just shows how "good" he was for them

I want to see a new inter-league bowl game. The Las Vegas Locomotives (UFL Champion) vs the Cleveland Browns.

How about the annual loser bowl? The 2 teams with the worst records facing off. Now that would be fun.

I'm putting Chad Greenway on this list, and yes it's a completely biased choice. He played well last year in EJ's absence, and has played at that same caliber this year, as well. Now that EJ is gone for the season, hopefully he can take his level of play to an even higher level. Maybe he'll even wind up in the Pro Bowl
