Seriously, does this guy look like a junior in your highschool?

I have told the story a few times, but, one of my former college teammates played with Pujols in the Jayhawk league (collegiate summer baseball league), and told us about this "guy he played with" that looked like he was 30, and hit like it also.... Note, Albert was 19 at the time (according to him).

Please take a page out of EEEs book in the future. They did some research before randomly selecting a checklist. Do they have picks in lower rounds? Sure. Many of those guys were guys that fell due to signability questions, they are high ceiling guys worth something.

I think we should do a top 20 comparison :0
2008
Gordon Beckham
Rick Porcello
Logan Morrison
Pablo Sandoval
Mike Stanton
Buster Posey
Neftali Feliz
Dominic Brown
Derrick Rose
Michael Beasley
Wilmer Flores
Michael Taylor
Gerardo Para
Ike Davis
Neftali Feliz
Ryan Kalish
Juan Francisco
Michel Inoa
Christian Friedrich
James Darnell
Max Ramirez?
Jason Knapp?
Pretty sick list for a product that sells for less than $50 a box.
Does 2009 have a better top 12 than 2008?

I think 2009's CL is much deeper than 2008s...that's where I think it surpasses it.
Additionally, a lot has to do with print run. Porcello was fairly easy to pull but Morrison, Stanton, Rose, Beasley, Darnell and Flores were all next to impossible to pull due to print run, so they didn't add a whole lot to the product.
I think Tate, Ackley, Chapman and Meija sales will be able to hang with the top 4 on your list though. Again though, print run is the variable we don't know at the moment.

Agreed on the print run variable. I am willing to be that chapman is JUST AS HARD to pull as Flores, so he will add little value to most breaks.
I just don't see the depth that you do. I look at the top players in 2008 elite and see some of the best rookies from the 2009 season, and a stack of TOP prospects in all of baseball, and the product still sells for less that $50 a box.
The 2009 product likely doesn't have a Beckham, Porcello, and Sandoval who will hit the bigs in the 2010 with they splash they did.
Again, we shall see. I do see this product is getting some hype on the boards from the members that bought into it. PLEASE NOTE, I am hoping you guys are all right about this product. However, i honestly see it as very similar to 2008.

Honestly, not really concerned about hitting the bigs and the value there from an initial busting standpoint. Morrison and Stanton sold higher out of the gate and they didn't hit the bigs at all. I think top to bottom this product is better but I guess we shall see. I busted elite last year too.
Well yes, I mean of course people are going to be excited about a product they bought into, that kind of goes without saying.
I personally think it will be a better product than Draft and my money is where my mouth is, as I have two cases.
ballerskrip said:I am very excited for this product also...
But, I wonder if the $1-$3 autos will eventually sour people like it did last year. 2008 Elite had a very solid checklist, look at what those prices did...
