In the past teams have been able to nominate 1 or 2 players for each teams then someone from mlb I believe decides on which players make the team. Pretty sure it has nothing to do with Baseball America unless they've totally changed the selection process in the last 2 years.

It was bad when Moustakas didn't make it last year, this year it's criminal.

BA has had input for quite a while now.

From MLB.com:
Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America, USA Baseball and the 30 Major League Baseball Clubs, selected the 25-man rosters for each club. Each Major League organization is represented and the World Team features players from 11 countries and territories. Players from all full-season Minor Leagues were eligible to participate.

Wiki:
Rosters for the Futures Game are selected by Baseball America magazine, in conjunction with MLB and the all 30 major league teams. Every organization is represented, with no more than two players from any organization, and 25 players per team, divided into U.S. and World teams based on place of birth.

It's great to have some of the Razor guys get Chromes even if they are second year and Futures game.

Michael Taylor should have made it easily.

Happy to see Drabek and Flande. Got Drabek last night on a ball in fact. Really nice guy.

Yeah no M.T. is a crock (especially when the likes of D.Jones & C.Heisy made it instead in the OF  )... The upside to this on a personal note is no future's card's (less card's available of a player= good for prospector's)! :D

This isn't really an all-star game. Its a USA vs World minor league event that showcases some of the best talent in the minor leagues. If a guy doesn't make it, it very well can mean that the USA or World had too many of that set position already.

Also, I think they try to represent almost all the clubs, so I don't think they're really looking to have 3-4 guys from one team there.

Stoked to have Brett Lawrie on there.

Has to be one of the youngest participating along with Flores and a couple others.

Anyone think Alcides will be in Milwaukee by game time?

I was there last night! I got Drabek to when he was charting along with Savery. Me and my bud made the trip from central NJ to see the game last night. Who were you?

You're probably right, as Brett Lawrie played for Canada in the WBC, but has had no Topps cards, even though they have the contract to make cards for the event.

I am really happy for Kyle Drabek and Montero. Drabek has been some story and I talked with him last night at the Reading game. The kid is very nice.

No more than two players could be selected from one organization. Bumgarner and Villalona were the Giants selections.

I went with 8. As with every AS game, some glaring omissions. Overall, I can't argue with most.

Although I'm torn knowing some Phillies could be ex-Phils prospects soon.

Not a damn person will care but me, but I'm glad to see EY Jr. make the roster. Was thinking of possibly going up to the Lou to see a concert and the game so this makes it an almost for sure thing that I will try to head up there :)
