Ok, had Robert Stock not graduated high school early and enrolled in USC as a 16-year-old freshman, most accounts were leading to him being a top 10 pick.
Now, coming into his junior season he isn't a lock for the first two rounds.
To Stock and his family, the goal was a better path to the major leagues and they believed college to be that route. Right now, it doesn't look that way.
So the question comes as Robert and his younger brother Richard are both eligible for the 2009 MLB draft...does Richard get drafted before Robert?
I know it's early and anything can happen this year but I believe Richard is a top-50 high schooler and Robert might crack the top-100 for college players.
Possible twist?
Richard signs to play at USC and Robert returns for his senior year hoping to boost his draft status, get a degree and to finally play with his brother...whom he just missed by leaving high school a year early.
It was never about the money.
