just poor quality control

That is what I was originally thinking, but I can't find anything else similar to it on ebay or else where......

Well, maybe it's a Yankee 1/1 ;)

Printing mishap. I had a similar situation (not as bad as yours) with this card:

The mark on the bottom left was under the clear coating. I sent it back and got a replacement.

There are a bunch of them posted on the box break forum(atleast there was when the product first went live)usually on the WBC inserts.

Yup tons of printing errors, it seemed like it was most of the WBC refractors.

Chrome technology can visually show the sound wave from passing gas. I thought everyone knew this ;)

Too bad Chrome cards are no longer etched...you could've really seen, and even touched it then

I got that with a couple of my Blue refractors. Seems like a lot of the early Chrome have had defects like that in them.

Here I thought it was another version of the card I was going to have to chase!

Out of 4 boxes i broke there was at least one or two refractors as your Pettitte and the others were fine.

Weird, I ripped 5 boxes with no others like this, but one blaster and BAM....

what about base cards? I have a Paul Konerko that has a shadow image of the cathcer in the back ground. I dont know if its the angle in which the picture was taken or if another image was laid over top of the card. I keep looking at it wondering...

Did they double print the facsimile signature as well? What a terrible signature!

I actually got my package back today with the same refractors except they were corrected.
Even replaced the numbered Delgado.
