Picked up three Blasters of 2009 Topps at Shopko this morning, only because each box promised a "retired legend commemorative patch card." Commemorative to me means they made it up, but that can't be all bad. So here's what I got.
Ted is 1946 AS Game, Roy is 1953 As Game, and Gehrig is 1933 AS Game. The background is a light silver, not white, so it isn't as pale as my scanner would have you believe. The checklist is pretty loaded with genuine immortals of the game (I'll scan it off the box, if enough want it.) but the patch is pretty small. Still, pulling anything of Lou Gehrig is cool in my book. What do the rest of you think of them? Haven't seen blasters anywhere else to know if it's a Shopko thing, or they'll be everywhere.
