Why do they waste people's time with politicians on baseball cards. Sure it's worth money, but Topps could put a valuable baseball player in it's place. I'd be pissed, too. If I'm paying for baseball cards, I want basebal cards. The guy pulling the cards sounds like a *********. Do you think he talks like that in real life or is that just his "******* sweet mojo 1/1 cut auto jersey pulling" voice? TTT=FAIL.

It's on the sell sheet. They aren't forcing anyone to buy anything. If you don't like what is a part of the product, don't buy.

Is the autograph definately autopen?
Or, is it being compared to one in the autograph magazine article called a "suspected" autopen?

Any chance Topps will shed light on the origin of this signature?

It's definitely an autopen. It's one of his newer autopens. I just linked those articles to show how a 30 second Google search can save you money.

I'm not suggusting they are forcing anybody to buy their product. It just seems to me that the gimmick of putting politician and celebrity memorabilia on baseball cards has "jumped the shark". Is it too much to ask to put baseball players on baseball cards again? Maybe they could make a whole set of cards exclusively for politicians. When it doesn't sell, they will realize that people don't actually care about crap like that.

Didn't the first articles call it a suspected autopen (not confirmed)?

If it helps you sleep at night to think he doesn't autopen, then believe such. I don't argue this stuff any more. The last time I did, my PM inbox filled with hatred and ill-wishes. Everyone that follows political autos will tell you it is an autopen. Compare it to other autopens on eBay (they won't be labeled as such). Take two images that look close and overlay them in Photoshop. Real autographs will have minor differences. These won't.

Right now more people would probably like an Obama autograph, rather than a Mantle autograph. There are more people that are interested in the president than people interested in baseball. A political set with autographs of all the presidents would sell. Americana sells.

Are autopen signed the same way they used to be or is there a new way of doing it? I saw a show how a machine did it. Just wondering.

I guess selling that card would be one way for someone to get that "Obama Money". My mind has been changed. I'm off the the card shop right now!

Yep. Two that I'm aware of. More Obama signatures are autopens than are not autopens.

If Topps allowed for an autopen cut signature to make it into their product, someone needs to raise heck over it. I'm curious though if an autopen signature is that large.

Also, Presidential cut autographs are some of the highest selling and most sought after cards in any set. If you're not happy pulling one, start it at 99 cents on eBay and let it run. That will ease your pain. ;)

If Therion is correct, I smell another in a long line of trading card black eyes.
