Is anyone shying away from purchasing a redemption because of the cease and desist order placed on selling cases?

I searched the other two threads for discussion on this, so I apologize if this has been discussed.

I would still buy them if I could afford them. Even if it caves in for them, they may give me something else.
Oh wait It's Upper Deck and I would have not gotten anything of the same value to the redemption.

But all kidding aside, I think people may not buy the redemptions just because they are notorious for not
getting them filled.

There is no way I would even think about buying a redemption of this product. Its a beautiful product for sure, but I think the court sestem is gonna put the Kabosh on the redemptions.

I guess in the end, with the price I paid, the worst that happens is I get a replacement for way more than I spent, but does anyone think that UD would even NOT honor replacements with the pending litigation?

Legally they have to provide something. But if they are going under or facing a huge fine, it could just be some worthless auto from their inventory

You saw what they gave me for my basketball redemption replacements. If you give UD a big lsit of potential replacements, they will usually give you something you want. Only once in over 10 replacement requests was I not happy with what I got

I do not see them giving a worthless auto. I plan on buying some redemptions if I feel the price is right.

I didn't buy any SPX, what's wrong with that redemption?

It's a mystery redemption, a virtual invitation to be disappointed ;-)

I redeemed mine a long time ago and got a Wieters that I sold for $140.
These were for last years and I am pretty sure that they will honor that one.

I don't think they will. But if they are going bankrupt or losing the ability to sell baseball cards in products, I would imagine they will sell off their high end inventory, a la Fleer, and ship out the low end stuff.

They are still producting Football and hockey cards. You could get a nice card from one of those sports. I have received Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne autos for baseball and basketball redemptions.

There is no reason to think UD will not honor the redemptions

I think Upper deck may have leaked that out themselves to get this product sold. It sure seems to have skyrocketed in price. Anyone remember the mouse that roared?

It came in, and I redeemed it, so I can post the link now.

Worst case scenario, I would have to think even a replacement for a Youkilis/Eckersley AU #'d/8 would outsell the $24 I spent. Also interesting, is that 6 of the 8 redemptions have sold, and a 7th is listed on ebay with a high BIN/BO. Leads credence to just how much of this stuff is being broken.
