Re: 2010 BC Player Break-OFFICIAL DRAFT THREAD

A few random thoughts on the draft order:

Biggest Winner appears to be MetsCollector456 for buying a single slot and getting lucky slot number 2.

Other big winners seem to be those who bought lots of slots. Reljac, AK11, and tcsffan all seemed to do pretty well overall. This isn't always the case...I believe there was a time when someone who bought 20 slots ended up with zero picks in the top 40.

2 of the 3 contest slots actually ended up yielding great picks, as Mudcatsfan ended up with a pair of slots in the top 35. In my previous breaks, the contest slots have never been a factor at all. I believe they've always been in the bottom 20% of picks...until this time.

Biggest Losers were......NOBODY! Because the checklist is big enough for you to pick a decent prospect or one of your favorite vets even if you ended up with one of the bottom picks, and slots are only $5 anyway :grouphug:

+1.

This is my 4th GB (and my 2nd player one), and this is the best I have done... a pick in the 70s is golden for me.

I agree, I'm crunching names right now, and considering a bunch of veterans I'm not even writing down will get taken, I think I can get a solid sleeper type guy with even my 165th pick.

Re: 2010 BC Player Break-OFFICIAL DRAFT THREAD

Got the transaction down.

The only thing I forgot to mention about trading/buying/selling is that my policy on this is that if you sell slot(s) to someone who did not previously have any slots in the break, you are responsible for getting the cards to that person if you do not sell ALL of your slots to them (which therefore creating an extra envelope to be shipped).

I have to do this so I'm not sending out a bunch of extra envelopes that weren't accounted for in the slot pricing. Just wanted to say this in advance because there was once a miscommunication about this kind of situation in a previous break I did.

For example, you bought 10 slots and you sell five of them to five different people. That means instead of one envelope from me to you, there are now six different envelopes that need to be sent, which would have required the slightly higher pricing on these slots. Hope this makes sense, I think it's reasonable.

I am going to print out the checklist, and then I am going to do a little research, figure out who I want, and go from there. I would LOVE Sano because I followed him since he was signed, and I need 2 base cards, but I am thinking realistically. I have the 72nd pick as my top one, so that means that Sano, Stras, and probably Gibson and Sanchez are all out.

Yeah all of the top prospects will likely be long gone. I still don't have any Sano base, although I do have most of the other Twins prospects. If you want an idea of who might be available you can check back to the last BC group break and see when certain players were previously drafted. That's what I did.

I did as well for some more ideas of names to add to my list. I mean, I've been tracking sales and everything, but there's a huge dropoff after Myers, Sands, and Archer in the prospect base set, and that makes a defined order tough to discern.

I imagine Sano is going to be at Twinsfest this year, so I am trying to pick up 2 cards of each prospect in the last two years or so to get a head start. I am done with auto balls... I tend to pick up the crappy OLB3s and they suuuuuck... so I am doing cards. One for me and one for a friend. That is actually my only reason for needing him.

I will check out the last one that went on... It seems like a good thing to go on.
