I'm amazed, these continue to go up and up and up and are getting near 3x the earliest pre-sell costs.

Here are three options on ebay right now.

[phil:2odttz58]300433638842[/phil:2odttz58] - $2,004.99
[phil:2odttz58]370390528715[/phil:2odttz58] - $1,969.95
[phil:2odttz58]230482975055[/phil:2odttz58] - $1,999.99

Absolute insanity and with Strasburg's debut and Harper's draft coming up it seems like up is the only way these are headed.

Just wondering what it would take for you to sell that infamous case you're holding? Were you hoping for more than $1000+ pure profit? On the other hand, if prices hadn't jumped so much like this, would you have cracked it?

I think JP's plans are to have Strasburg sign the sealed case.

Then, he might sell it.

I'm leaning towards flipping it at this point. Been waiting to see if the Stras Red Auto and Harper Super materialize, but as prices continue to soar, I have to assume people will eventually stop buying jumbos, or at least slow down.

I bought 2 cases ( Jumbo) and flipped them right away and I thought of holding them longer but really glad I did not.
I made a good buck from those anyway. Because this has got to end sometime.

I had a dream last night both of these were in your case, in the same pack.

Yeah I think you'll have a tough time pulling enough value to produce the $2k or so you could probably sell for. The way I see it, when wax reaches the point where the only way to regain your money is to pull one of the top 5 or 10 cards in the entire product, it is no longer worth busting. You could pull a red ref auto of a decent player and still not have $2k of sell value.

I'm interested in finding out what your case actually holds either way. It's kinda like the show deal or no deal. Looks like you'll be making $$ either way, but whether or not you make a good deal selling your case will depend on what is inside.

Yeah, I don't get how you'd even come close to making your $$$ back at this point. Shoot, I pulled a $600 card out of my roughly Jumbo case worth of stuff and still probably only pulled in about $300 worth of profit. Even at $1200 these were grossly overpriced for what you'd get.

The worst part is that there are probably only about 30 cards you could even hit at this point that would put you in a position to even sniff your investment back. Now, im no hardcore prospector and making money back isn't my first goal when busting a box...but there has to be some value there. Im cool with a product when you can average like 50% of your money back...because the other 50% to me is the cost of being in the hobby/cost of entertainment.

Gilmore and I talked a lot about how this product was going to take off, but I don't think either of us thought it would be like $230 a Jumbo box...at the cheapest CASE price.

Another good thing about Bowman products is that they continue to produce over time. Maybe a no-namer today will be a big seller next year. That said, I think 50% is a solid number too, but at this price point I can't imagine it being easy to accomplish that.

I'm still under the impression that when the Jumbo cases dry up, the Hobby's should really take off, although they are now moving at $1200-$1,250.

I don't know what to tell you Mr. Schwartz. I thought that the Jumbo's would have peaked or leveled off at this point quite a few times, but I was wrong. I think they are beyond anyone's expectations this point?!?! This is just insane!

The big dealers must be really low on what they have left to sell hobby wise. It's just dried up fast.

In talking to the guys at Atlanta, I was actually under the impression they had sold out of hobby long ago and just had Jumbo left.
